Today I am pleased to show you a little piece of my land, I am referring to Montalbán, a town located in the west of Carabobo state in Venezuela, but actually this memory belongs to several years ago when we went with our family to visit La Copa hill, which is about 1,810 meters above sea level. I had not been there for many years, so it was a great emotion to be able to return and enjoy the weather and the family atmosphere.
Hoy me complace poder mostrarles un pedacito de mi tierra, me refiero a Montalbán, un pueblo ubicado al oeste del estado Carabobo en Venezuela, pero en realidad este recuerdo pertenece a varios años atrás cuando fuimos en familia a visitar el cerro La Copa, que está a unos 1.810 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Yo tenía muchísimos años que no iba para allá, por eso fue una grandísima emoción poder regresar y disfrutar del clima y del ambiente familiar
As we arrived very early, around 6:30 or 7 am there was a lot of fog and the atmosphere was very cold, but as time went by and the sun began to warm up, the fog dissipated, giving way to a beautiful landscape, very green, very alive.
Como llegamos muy temprano, como a eso de las 6:30 o 7 Am había muchísima neblina y el ambiente estaba muy frío, pero a medida que el tiempo fue pasando y el sol empezó a calentar, la neblina se fue disipando, dando paso a un bellísimo paisaje, muy verde, muy vivo.
Being up there you feel more in touch with nature, it seems incredible but the grass is even greener, the air is cleaner, and it is something you notice right away. Something that we really enjoyed seeing was a mare nursing her foal, it was a beautiful image that we wanted to capture in the moment because it seemed to us a very tender and authentic scene.
Estando allá arriba uno se siente más en contacto con la naturaleza, parece mentira pero el pasto es aún más verde, el aire es más limpio, y es algo que se nota enseguida. Algo que disfrutamos mucho de ver fue a una yegua que amamantaba a su potro, fue una bonita imagen que quisimos capturar en el momento porque nos pareció una escena muy tierna y autentica.
For lunch we had a delicious barbecue with beef, chicken and also chirizo, it was delicious, but we did not stop drinking coffee because it was quite cold up there, even at one o'clock at noon, when the sun was at its highest point, by the way, something that calls my attention now that I look at the pictures was how fat I was at that time.
Para almorzar hicimos una deliciosa parrillada con carne de res, de pollo y también chirizo, estaba deliciosa, pero tampoco dejamos de tomar café ya que hacia bastante frío allá arriba, incluso siendo la una del mediodía, cuando el sol estaba en su punto más alto, por cierto, algo que llama bastante mi atención ahora que miro las fotos era lo gordo que yo estaba en esa época.
But one of the things I enjoyed most was the view of my beautiful town. I remember when I was much younger and went to the hill with my friends, we had such a sharp vision that we could always recognize the church of the town, and from there follow the route visually to our respective houses (we could locate them from that distance).
Pero una de las cosas que más disfruté fue la vista de mi hermoso pueblo. Recuerdo que cuando yo era mucho más joven e iba al cerro con mis amigos, teníamos una visión tan aguda que siempre podíamos reconocer la iglesia del pueblo, y a partir de allí seguir la ruta visualmente hasta nuestras respectivas casas (las ubicábamos desde esa distancia)
Anyway, it was a wonderful day that I hope to repeat someday because I really enjoyed it very much, it brought back old pleasant memories to my memory, just as now I remember that day we went to the hill as a family and enjoyed each other's company, moments like these are the ones that unite us more and more. En fin, fue un día maravilloso que espero se repita algún día porque de verdad lo disfruté mucho, trajo viejos recuerdos gratos a mi memoria, así como ahora recuerdo ese día que fuimos al cerro en familia y disfrutamos cada uno de la compañía del otro, momentos como estos son los que nos unen cada vez más. Hey, I was always told about La Copa hill, but I could never go, but I had the opportunity to climb El Peñon hill, I will go there any time. Greetings!
Yes, El Peñón is even more popular, in fact I've been to the Rock more times than to the Copa, the views from there are also beautiful.
The truth is that it is a beautiful place full of color and with a pleasant climate ideal to spend some time away from the noise of the city.
