I decided to make the "cookies" for the last 28 trees...I made the first 2 2" x 4" batches of "cookies" out of paper pulp, pva glue and Portland Cement...and I was on a roll -
And then I ran out of Paper Pulp...
So I asked myself what else I had in the house that I might be able to use right away - and I thought I would try Dryer Lint - which in our house also includes Dog Hair!
This was a much different consistency because the dog hair did not separate easily the way the paper pulp did...but I think it will work anyway. These are much different than the first batch of 13 - the are much thinner. I look forward to see if they will work and become hard rocks the way the others have!
They should cure a lot quicker because they are so much thinner...
I definitely used gloves when I made this clay - the Portland Cement would be very painful if it got on my skin because it is such a fine dust - and I would not have been able to do very much with bare hands. Usually I use my bare hands - but that is a draw back with this "clay" - I don't think it's possible.
Being that they are on Plastic Bin tops, I am hoping that the side down side will be smooth and easy to draw and paint on.
I am going to use Exterior Clear Sphar Varnish as a protective coat to keep the paint from chipping and fading in the freeze - thaw scenario they will be facing outside...
But I am hopeful because the
this one survived Minnesota which also includes summer humidity and similar winters...While the Cookies are curing, I went out the property and made a map of the trees and assigned them all names and numbers to the new ones.
I came home tonight and laid out the new ones in GIMP and designed the sigils for each one, so that I can just be ready when it's time to paint them -
I can just copy them from the computer. This should be in the next day or so...
I also have the other 28 I also have to make - but they are already designed.
#4 replaced the Oak that died
I may have miscounted - it was pretty difficult to map out and count all the trees and keep track of them...I made this map but I am still not sure - I am just going to make all the sigil cookies and then go out there and see if it all works out... I also have had to add the year they were planted to each Sigil Cookie, to keep track of them better.
I think my husband is going to plant even more this year - of the Vine Bushes... There is one of them out there now - #26.

Wow - just brilliant dearest @in2itiveart - thank you so much for sharing your process here: working with natural clays and muds is yet another thing I'd love to do more of.. I relate very much to the magic you're weaving into your neighbourhood, and how you're immersed in the connectedness of it all.... gorgeous ❤️🔥🌺🐞🦋🕷️
