This is a blast from my past but an absolute godsend in the current predicament. I used to play this football management simulator series when I was in my teens and I was pretty addicted. I have been known to lose 8hrs in a blink playing on a weekend. It was probably the best edition of that game that they ever created and it's easy just to pick up and play.
So imagine my surprise when I see that they have made it a legitimate free download and added patches to update all players and teams as of March 2020!! Wow. I'm excited.
I am now running my beloved Bristol Rovers and trying to get them into the Premier League. Hours of fun and a brilliant way for me to continue 'Ostriching' and avoid dealing with the chaos.

Another footy sim that I want to give a shout out to is Hattrick.
I have been playing this online multiplayer football management simulator, off and on, for around 12 years. There are a massive amount of people playing all around the world and most languages are covered. It is real time, unlike Championship Manager, so you have to wait for the games. In the UK our league games are on Sundays and our friendlies are on Tuesdays.
You have to train your squad, pick the team and choose your tactics, all from an extensive choice of options. The community is brilliant and the help and guidance is there to get anyone started.

Oh my!! These little rascals are amazing and probably the reason why I (hopefully) will come out of lockdown 10 pounds heavier!
Light pastry, almond filling, a layer of jam and a tiny splodge of icing suger on the top. Boom! Enough said.

Friday Night Lights
The general feeling that this chaos is creating has made me get a little nostalgic and FNL is one of my favourite ever shows. It is based on the Movie of the same name, which in turn is based off of a book.
It's about the town of Dillon Texas and focused around the high school football team, the Dillon Panthers. You honestly don't have to be a fan of american football to enjoy this show but if you do follow it is a real bonus. The story line hits home immediately as heart wrenching tragedy strikes in the first episode and sets the tone for the show.
Kyle Chandler (Coach Eric Taylor)and Connie Britton (Tammy Taylor) are flat out magnificent in there performances. I defy anyone to show me a better, more realistic couple, than these two. Brilliant show, brilliant story, brilliant acting.
Chuck and Dexter are also getting a mention.

Some nice choices to stay sane there Gaz! Entertainment is definitely a good way to stay away from the news and enjoy the downtime. We just finished the latest season of Ozark and moved onto the second season of Altered Carbon. I'm also picking up some books I started at the beginning of the year and didn't get a chance to finish yet. A little sweet treat is a nice choice, as well, though hopefully you can get in a little physical activity to balance it out, haha.
Haha Champ Man... so THAT'S where you've been hiding all this time! Speaking of classic PC Games, I downloaded the Crash Bandicoot and Spyro the Dragon trilogies and have been very much locked away in the man cave since! I basically don't need to leave my room haha!
