Crowd Facts has been created with support from @resonator, which is an account supported by JamesC, one of original developers of the Steem blockchain that Hive is dependent on. Resonator promotes Hive, supports decentralization and incubates projects on Hive that stand a chance of adding value to Hive. Resonator's aim is to improve Hive's utility and to increase the value of the Hive token.
Crowd Facts is a decentralized project that aims to motivate and empower the Hive community to work together to achieve a common goal. The individuals who run the Crowd Facts account are intended to have minimal involvement with the project once it is established.
The project aims to uncover the truth of important subjects by applying the 'wisdom of the crowd' to the idea of 'fact checking' in use by Reuters and other similar platforms. The Crowd Facts team aims to be neutral and will generally only act to help to grow the project.
Since Crowd Facts is primarily a curation project and not an authorship project, plus also to protect those involved from malicious attacks (should uncomfortable truths emerge as facts are checked), it has been decided that the Crowd Facts team will remain anonymous.
You have failed to convince me. At this point I feel that this “project” or rather just a blog with a few links is valued nothing from my point of view.
I understand the need for caring for Hive, but you have a strong bias that does not help.
The original post for this project outlines the intended roadmap, which includes custom website and browser plugin development, plus a layer 2 token for the project. This is dependent on the community taking interest in Crowd Facts since their engagement is what powers the project. We do not expect anyone to be convinced by the vision of the project - it's a new idea and experiment that needs to prove it's own value over time.
Good luck herding the cats here.
Absent whale support I don't see you finding many willing to participate.
When a whale votes redfish starve.
IF we are trying to distribute a coin, better to give the redfish more as there are more of them than the ~36 whales, ergo, this is not a 'good' idea.
Imo.
This project is not about voting on whales. Everyone has equal opportunity to provide useful information to the threads and topics being covered. With enough exposure and education, this project could be a great way to onboard new users and to get them receiving rewards.
