Over the weekend I got to attend Monster Jam - a monster truck event that was visiting my city. This was my second time attending and I enjoyed it even more than the first time.
Since I've never really been to monster truck events in the past, I decided to get the VIP ticket where you can get up close with the vehicles before the show. Definitely worth it!
There was a Marvel partnership for this show and 4 of the trucks were based on Marvel characters - Black Panther (pictured above), Spiderman, Thor, and Iron Man. This was different than the first time but a nice little touch as many of the attendees were wearing Marvel and other comic book gear. There are a couple of in-house celebrities when it comes to Monster Jam though - names like Grave Digger and El Toro Loco come to mind - but it's difficult to compete with a brand as big as Marvel so I understand the partnership.
Sparkle Smash was new truck I hadn't seen before but with the bright colors and massive unicorn horn upfront it was hard to miss. Sadly, they didn't do too great in the competition.
Speaking of which, the event is broken down into 3 main sections - head to head races, skills challenge, and freestyle. The races are my favorite part because it is easiest to score, you just have to be first. The skills and freestyle challenges are fun too and you get to see some wild stunts, but it all comes down to judges scoring which can be super subjective as well as have recency bias.
Overall though, it was a fun event and one that I will plan to attend again in the future!

That's not a thing in my country but I've always been curious ever since I saw these events in the TV, as a kid. Glad you enjoyed it!
amazing, i've always wanted to drive such cars specially when i'm stuck n traffic jam haha,trucks being on such characters is definitely an extra the black panther one is so cool probably my fav, maybe next time they also add batman it would be cool too, yes agree all the challenges r great but always racing is extra special & definitely agree that other challenges r down to judges scoring which can be subjective & can b biased. finally great pictures well done
That's a lot of people in that stadium actually, that must've been fun. Was there an exhibition by the monster trucks?
