This Saudi speaker Mohamed Al Qahtani has many awards in public speaking, and at the beginning of one of his speeches he put a cigarette in his mouth and pretended to light it. The audience was shocked and some of them started laughing some others were making sounds of amazement.

He looked very confused, and he said: Oh you think smoking kills? Do you know the amount of people dying from diabetes is 3 times as many people die from smoking? Yet if I pulled a Snickers bar no one would say anything!

From a very young age we were taught that smoking kills, and it's even written on every pack of cigarette worldwide, but we were never taught that excessive sugar indulging is also lethal, it even kills more people!

We know that smoking kills, but we're not adequately aware that fast food, processed food, and sugary food can also kill!

In my country Egypt, there's a new brand that sells killer sweets; amounts of sugar you can't even fathom in one dish that even a teaspoon of it has more sugar than many other things which we also consider sugary.

It's not just about diabetes, it's also about obesity, insuline levels, mood swings, and many other things. From a personal experience, my life has been much better since I cut sugar almost permanently, except for very few and subtle things that I eat from time to time. But, now I have more energy, I can focus better for longer times, and I don't suffer from these sudden mood swings caused by sugar.

Sugar can be even more destructive than smoking and both are things you need to avoid, and if you can't, you're very less likely to live a healthy life.

I know how hard it is because I've been there, but believe me it gets much easier by time!
