I Call this the Zesty Glow Tonic

in Lifestyle9 months ago

Hi friends. Today’s healthy drink recipe is a pretty common one but with loads of benefits for the body. The ingredients are right in your kitchen so feel free to give this a try right after you’ve done your research to be sure there are all safe for you.

I call this the Zesty Glow Tonic because it’ll make you glow from the insides to the outsides. It’ll boost your immune system and keep you far away from illness. It is a great drink for keeping a healthy weight and guts. It is the perfect just-got-out-of-bed drink, to properly awaken your mind and prepare you for your day.

Another beautiful thing this punch does for me is keep my skin clear and glowing. Over the years, I have come to simply my skincare routine to just cleanser, exfoliants, and sunscreen. I realized that the healthier my insides are, the better my skin becomes so this drink is a vital part of my skincare routine.

Ideal Dosage:

Every body works differently, but simplicity tends to work for everyone. I don’t over drink this because I don’t want to over-saturate myself as it is highly concentrated. If you are getting on board for the first time, I’d advise taking a 50 or 60ml shot daily for one week for a proper detox, then the next week you drink sparingly.
PS: This is not expert advice.

I drink my lemon/ginger shot either three or four days in a week. And sometimes I don’t drink it at all for another week or two. Just to leave room for my body to adjust and do its thing.
Before you ingest anything, you should do your research on the ingredients.

Breakdown of Ingredients:

  • Ginger: Ginger is a great antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties. It helps with cold, nausea, bloating and gas problems. It is generally safe for daily consumption but could cause heartburn if you commune an abnormal quantity.
  • Turmeric: Turmeric is a safe ingredient in food but consuming large amounts over along time can trigger some of its side effect like acid reflux, ulcer, kidney stones etc. To be on the safer side, I don’t add turmeric to my blend all the time.
  • Orange: Orange is high in vitamins that help boost the immune system, maintain a clear skin, vision, and aids digestion. Orange is also sweet so it makes for a good match for the lemons.

  • Lemon: Lemon is a wonderful household ingredient with several uses. It is wonderful to managing weight, improving digestion, clearing the skin, and wonderful for the immune system. However, lemons are highly acidic so thread with caution. Ulcer, heartburn, acid reflux; are some associated side effects.
  • Black pepper: Black pepper is a great source of manganese and Vitamin K. I add a dash of it to this shot because it activates some of the ingredients like turmeric and makes for easy absorption by the body. It is key!
  • Cayenne pepper: Welp, who doesn’t know of this goodness? High in vitamin A, good for treating cold, relieving pains, maintaining a healthy skin, etc. A little dash in your shot and you’re good to go.

That is all about the glow tonic. Don’t forget to do your research because ingesting anything. Remember, consistency is key but proper pacing is the lock.
