



Doing these drawings one gets to learn some things. For example, not every paper handles alcohol-base ink in the same way. And you can check this out by passing the marker and then feeling the paper. If it gets too wet and feels like it is going to break, then it doesn't hold humidity too well.
This is one of the reasons why some zentangle doesn't get to look the same that it does in videos or photos where we might take the patterns to practice. Materials are aa important as the hands that make the drawing.
Also, checking the dimensions of the drawing is necessary. These big ones on a whole page take way too much time to complete and might work against anxiety first, but they will help you get anxious as well trying to finish them and looking the time. Handling smaller surfaces is a better idea to get started in the whole path.
About the markers, one never gets to understand how the ink works until it is on the paper. Some colors are darker than its tag. Other, look way different. It is another game of trial an error. Something that also works on that philosophy of doing things without wanting to perfect them.
