Hello Hello internet people, how are you? Today I want to share with you what was my last weekend at my cousins' party, both of them have their birthday this month, one on the 12th and the other on the 15th, so on Saturday the 15th we gathered at one of them's house to celebrate. For us it was a doubly special date because it was also the birthday of our grandfather who passed away already in 2015, but anyway we still remember him and carry him in our hearts.
Hola Hola gente de internet ¿Cómo están? hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que fue mi fin de semana pasado en la fiesta de mis primas, ambas cumplen año en este mes, una el día 12 y la otra el 15, así que el sábado 15 nos reunimos en casa de una de ellas para celebrar. Para nosotros era una fecha doblemente especial porque también era la fecha de cumpleaños de nuestro abuelo quien falleció ya en el año 2015, pero de todos modos igualmente lo recordamos y lo llevamos en nuestro corazón.
Other of my cousins and I had to do the decoration, and look I had no idea how to do it, so don't judge me 😄 but I started by covering a small internal window on this wall with silver paper, this way I gave the illusion that the wall is lis. On top of that paper we would already put the other decorations.
A otras de mis primas y a mi nos tocó hacer la decoración, y miren que yo no tenía idea de como hacerla, así que no me juzguen 😄 pero inicié tapando una pequeña ventana interna que hay en esta pared con papel plateado, de esta forma daba la ilusión de que la pared es lis. Sobre ese papel ya pondríamos las demás decoraciones.
We had a lot of material at our disposal, it was too much and I didn't know if it would all fit in that small space, but we would do our best, but on that table there were balloons of flowers, hearts, letters, in short, there was everything, then I made a mess with the balloons 😄 but my uncle came to the rescue and helped me to locate them. We were laughing a lot because my uncle is very funny, he can't talk without telling a joke or doing something funny.
Teníamos a nuestra disposición mucho material, era demasiado y yo no sabía si cabría todo en ese pequeño espacio, pero haríamos lo mejor posible, pero sobre esa mesa había globos de flores, corazones, letras, en fin, había de todo, luego me hice un lío con los globos 😄 pero mi tío llegó al rescate y me ayudó a ubicarlos. Nos reíamos mucho porque mi tío es muy gracioso, no puede hablar sin decir un chiste o hacer algo gracioso.
The cakes were freshly decorated and the truth is that they turned out beautifully and we put them on the dining room table while my uncle and I finished putting together the wall decorations.
Las tortas estaban recién decoradas y la verdad es que quedaron lindísimas y las pusimos sobre la mesa del comedor mientras mi tío y yo terminábamos de armar la decoración de la pared.
Then some cousins and my nephew (the son of one of them) joined us to help us with the decorations 😄 we laughed a lot with my uncle's comments and when something was wrong we made fun of ourselves. It was a really funny moment.
Luego se unieron algunas primas y mi sobrino (ele hijo de una de ellas) para ayudarnos con la decoración 😄 nos reíamos un montón con los comentarios de mi tío y cuando algo quedaba chueco nos burlábamos de nosotras mismas. Fue de verdad un momento muy gracioso.
And voila, this is how the decoration turned out haha 😄, I know it's not the best but the truth is that we didn't have that much space on that wall, in fact I think we should have chosen another much wider wall, but according to what they said supposedly it wasn't the best option because it would be in the way, so this is what we were able to achieve in that reduced space. I think it looks nice though.
Y voilá, así quedó la decoración jaja 😄, sé que no es la mejor pero la verdad es que no teníamos tanto espacio en esa pared, de hecho creo que debíamos haber elegido otra pared mucho más amplia, pero según dijeron supuestamente no era la mejor opción porque iba a estorbar, así que esto es lo que pudimos lograr en ese espacio reducido. Sin embargo creo que se ve bonita.
My cousins (the birthday girls) immediately wanted to pose with their decorations, they loved it and wanted to show it off.
Mis primas (las cumpleañeras) enseguida quisieron posar junto a su decoración, les gustó mucho y querían presumirla.
We really had a great time as a family, we ate, we danced, we caught up with our lives, we remembered old anecdotes and of course we did photo sessions in which we had a lot of fun. What happened is that when I tried to take a selfie, the timer went off and it took too long to take the pictures, so someone was out of frame or came out with a lot of movement, in the end (the last picture) it came out properly but I couldn't stop laughing.
De verdad que pasamos un grato momento en familia, comimos, bailamos nos pusimos al día con nuestras vidas, recordamos viejas anécdotas y desde luego hicimos sesiones de fotos en las cuales nos divertimos un montón. Lo que sucedía es que cuando yo intentaba tomar una selfie salía el temporizador y se tardaba demasiado en tomar las fotos, por lo tanto alguien salía fuera de cuadro o salía con mucho movimiento, al final (la última foto) sí salió adecuadamente pero yo no paraba de reír.
See what I mean? It's impossible not to laugh when my uncle is present. Thank God we are a united and generally joyful family, despite the difficulties we have gone through, the hard times, the absence of grandpa and all the people we have loved so much and are no longer with us, every day we do our best to remain united and happy, celebrating every special moment, sharing laughter, hugs and blessings.
¿Ven lo que les digo? Es imposible no reírse cuando mi tío está presente. Gracias a Dios somos una familia unida y por lo general alegre, a pesar de las dificultades que hemos pasado, de los momentos duros, de la ausencia del abuelo y todos los seres que hemos amado tanto y ya no están con nosotros, todos los días hacemos lo posible por permanecer unidos y felices, celebrando cada momento especial, compartiendo risas, abrazos y bendiciones.
When we sing happy birthday, fun is also guaranteed because, for those who don't know, in Venezuela our birthday song is different. We use the version by a band called La Billos Caracas Boys, which is an extended version of the popular song. To top it all off, there's always a family member who changes some of the lyrics to make it funnier. And finally, we all line up to give our blessings and good wishes to the birthday girls.
Cuando cantamos el cumpleaños la diversión también está garantizada porque para los que no lo saben, en Venezuela nuestra canción de cumpleaños es diferente, usamos la versión de una banda llamada La Billos Caracas Boys, la cual es una versión extendida de la popular canción, pero para colmo nunca falta el familiar que cambie alguna parte de la letra de la canción para hacerla más graciosa. Y por último pues todos hacemos fila para darle nuestras bendiciones y buenos deseos a las cumpleañeras
