What should I give you for the New Year? Our unusual experience with Bitcoin

in Lifestyle7 days ago (edited)

My wife and I had this question when we were invited to visit for the New Year.

The party was going to be a chamber party — four families, couples and children.

We thought for a long time about what to give: we wanted something useful and memorable, and not just another trinket that is gathering dust on the shelf.

And then an idea came up: what if you give bitcoin?

How did we implement it?

These guys are not into the subject of the crypt at all, and for them it was something completely new.

That's what we did.:

  1. We ordered souvenir bitcoin coins, made of metal, so that it would be beautiful and symbolic.

  2. We created a wallet for everyone — we did it for them, saved the seed phrase and keys.

  3. We recorded instructions and a video clip explaining how to activate the wallet, how to use bitcoin, and why you shouldn't sell it right away.

  4. We added context — along with the gift, we told you what bitcoin is, why it's important, and suggested exploring this asset as an opportunity for the future.

As a result, the gift turned out to be not only original, but also useful: it was their first step into the world of cryptocurrencies.

We even joked that they were now officially “hodlers.”

What did you give?
