En nuestro campamento de verano en la academia estuvimos realizando varias actividades cada día, entre ellas: Pintura, retos de ciencia, cocina y mucho más.
El día de hoy les quiero hablar del día científico, para este reto de ciencia quise realizar con los niños plastilina casera.
Sabía que esta idea les iba a encantar, porque después podríamos realizar un concurso de formas de plastilina.
Para hacer esta plastilina necesitamos:
- Harina de trigo
- Sal
- Agua
- Aceite
- Colorante vegetal
Lo primero que hicimos fue realizar un ''volcán'' con la harina.

In our summer camp at the academy we were doing several activities every day, among them: painting, science challenges, cooking and much more.
Today I want to talk about the science day, for this science challenge I wanted to make homemade play dough with the children.
I knew that they would love this idea, because later we could make a contest of plasticine shapes.
To make this play dough we need:
- Wheat flour
- Salt
- Water
- Oil
- Vegetable coloring
The first thing we did was to make a ''volcano'' with the flour.
Luego de colocar la harina en la mesa y hacerle un agujero en el centro, comenzamos a aplicarle chorritos de aceite mientras mezclamos.
Debemos amasar todo muy bien. En cada paso seleccionaba a un niño para que me ayudara a realizar cada paso.
Los niños se emocionaban muchísimo, ya querían ver la plastilina echa.
After placing the flour on the table and making a hole in the center, we begin to apply drizzles of oil while mixing.
We must knead everything very well. At each step I would select a child to help me with each step.
The children were very excited, they wanted to see the plasticine already made.

Luego de mezclar la harina y el aceite agregamos la sal y seguimos revolviendo.
El amasado es un poco tardío porque tenemos que que asegurarnos de que todo el material se integre muy bien para que la plastilina pueda funcionar.
Luego de mezclar la sal, comenzamos a añadir agua poco a poco. Los niños ayudaron mucho en esta parte, con mucho cuidado porque si nos pasábamos de agua la mezcla se arruinaba.

The kneading is a little late because we have to make sure that all the material is very well integrated so that the plasticine can work.
After mixing in the salt, we started adding water a little at a time. The children helped a lot in this part, being very careful because if we overdid it the mixture would be ruined.

Cada niño fue escogiendo el color de su preferencia y al tener la masa lista comenzamos a añadir el colorante en polvo.
Mi compañera me tomó una foto porque tenía harina en la cara y nos dió mucha risa.
Los niños estaban emocionados por jugar con la plastilina. La consistencia nos encantó porque era como Playdoh, arenosa y compacta.

Después de hacer formas y jugar los niños querían bailar su canción favorita ''Rhenee'' así que nos pusimos a bailar y jugar un rato mientras llegaban los representantes.
Utsedes han hecho esta plastilina? Que les parece?
After making shapes and playing the children wanted to dance to their favorite song ''Rhenee'' so we danced and played for a while while the representatives arrived.
