Post-Surgery Reflections: Navigating Recovery After Laparoscopy

After undergoing #laparoscopy #surgery last week 9th of October 2024, I’ve found myself in what feels like the most uneventful period of my life. I’m hesitant to do anything, worried that even the smallest activity could interfere with my healing. Every day is a balance between fear and frustration—I don’t want to over exert myself, but doing nothing feels equally challenging.

Physically, it’s been tough. I’m constantly feeling nauseous and bloated. If I don’t eat, it feels like the world is closing in on me, yet eating even a small amount leaves me confused—should I be heading to the bathroom or fighting the urge to throw up? It’s a strange and exhausting experience, one that I’m sure many can relate to.

To all the women out there: take care of your health. It’s easy to overlook it until you’re forced to slow down, but trust me, the best thing you can do is to prioritize your well-being before things reach a breaking point.

Ever since I had broccoli in the hospital after my surgery, I’ve been overwhelmed with nausea every time I see or even hear about cruciferous vegetables. Just writing about it makes me feel like I’m going to vomit.

It’s incredibly frustrating, especially as I struggle daily with figuring out what I can eat. Being diabetic with high cholesterol and a fatty liver only adds to the challenge. This constant battle with food choices is exhausting, and I’m at my wit’s end.
