Me tocaba hacer compras nuevamente de verduras y hace días atrás había comprado un combo que me traía las verduras esenciales en grandes cantidades por un costo de 4$. Eran un poco más de 6 kg entre todas las cosas que traía.
Asumí que era muy buena oferta en el momento, pero al encontrarme nuevamente con la necesidad de comprar mis vegetales para la semana (que esa anterior compra me duró casi dos semanas), surgió en mi la curiosidad de si realmente el costo de esta oferta era único o era una oferta engañosa.
La única manera que tenía de comprobarlo era yendo a la frutería donde compro habitualmente mis vegetales y frutas y comparando los precios y cantidades.

It was my turn to do some vegetable shopping again and days ago I had bought a combo that brought me the essential vegetables in large quantities for a cost of $4. It was a little over 6 kg between all the things it brought.
I assumed it was a very good deal at the time, but finding myself again needing to buy my vegetables for the week (which that previous purchase lasted me almost two weeks), the curiosity arose in me as to whether the cost of this offer was really unique or was it a misleading offer.
The only way I could check was to go to the greengrocer where I usually buy my vegetables and fruits and compare prices and quantities.
Me fui en horas de la noche, casi cuando cerraban porque a estas horas no hay sol, el camino es más cómodo y además no hay fila para poder pagar.
Al llegar inmediatamente me fui hasta la pizarra con los precios, le tomé una foto y comencé a seleccionar las cosas que quería llevar.
I went in the evening hours, almost when they were closing because at this time of day there is no sun, the path is more comfortable and there is no line to pay.
When I arrived I immediately went to the board with the prices, took a picture and began to select the things I wanted to take.
Lo que me gusta de comprar en esta frutería es que yo puedo escoger directamente lo que quiero comprar en base a lo que quiero hacer de comida en la semana.
En cambio al comprar el combo de verduras en la otra tienda me expongo primero a que me den algo en mal estado o algo que no escogería, como un tomate aguado.
Segundo que no está la variedad que busco a la hora de comprar sino que hay un montón de lo que la gente comúnmente compra. No incluye frutas, vegetales variados como calabacín, auyama para hacer sopas, ajíes.
What I like about shopping at this greengrocer's is that I can directly choose what I want to buy based on what I want to eat during the week.
When I buy the vegetable combo at the other store, I am exposed to the risk of getting something in bad condition or something that I would not choose, such as a watery tomato.
Secondly, there is not the variety that I am looking for when I shop, but rather there is a lot of what people commonly buy. It doesn't include fruits, assorted vegetables like zucchini, pumpkin for soups, chili peppers.
Hice mi compra variada, como acostumbro y me fui directo a caja. En ese momento no me puse a comparar precios y cantidades aunque si gasté la misma cantidad.
No me lo van a creer pero me sacaron la cuenta 3 veces jajaja las chicas de la tienda estaban locas por irse a casa y por estar haciendo todo apurado me sacaron la cuenta por primera vez, dónde a mitad de camino a la chica se le olvidó el monto.
Luego la otra chica tomó el control y comenzaron a sacarla nuevamente con otro peso dónde podían ir sumando los montos. Al tener el monto completo me lo hicieron saber pero yo no tuve retentiva con esto y me tocaba hacer el pago virtual.
Abrí mi banco y cuando les pregunté el monto... ¡No se acordaban! Por eso les tocó volver a sacarme la cuenta una tercera vez.
Así fue como salí con mis compras luego de algunos minutos de espera.
I did my usual varied shopping and went straight to the checkout. At that moment I didn't compare prices and quantities although I did spend the same amount.
You won't believe it but they took my bill 3 times hahaha the girls in the shop were crazy to go home and because I was doing everything in a hurry they took my bill for the first time, where halfway through the checkout the girl forgot the amount.
Then the other girl took control and they started to take it out again with another peso where they could add up the amounts. When they had the full amount they let me know but I didn't hold back and I had to make the virtual payment.
I opened my bank and when I asked them the amount? They couldn't remember! So they had to take out my account a third time.
That's how I left with my purchases after a few minutes of waiting.
Luego me fui a hacer el resto de mis compras, pasamos por la tienda a comprar un poco de carne y pollo, luego fuimos a otra tienda donde suelo comprar el pan.
En esta oportunidad iba a comprar otras cositas. Acá también venden verduras, así que aproveche de tomarle una foto a la pizarra de precios para comprar los precios luego en casa.
Then I went to do the rest of my shopping, we went to the shop to buy some meat and chicken, then we went to another shop where I usually buy bread.
This time I was going to buy other things. Here they also sell vegetables, so I took a photo of the price board to buy the prices later at home.
Y luego se hacer mi última parada en la tienda que queda al lado de mi casa me senté a evaluar los precios en las tiendas que visité y la oferta que compré la vez anterior.
En cuanto a cantidades obviamente con la oferta compré más, pero sacando la cuenta de los costos que estaban en la frutería que visité, basando eso en las cantidades que ofrecía la oferta, la diferencia que obtenía era mínima.
Apenas se generaba un ahorro de 48 bs, que representa unos 0.8$. Adicional a eso como les mencioné en ese post, faltaban algunos gramos en ciertos vegetales.
Entonces, ¿es una oferta engañosa? No del todo pero el ahorro no es tan grande como lo hacen ver.
Es por eso que llegué a la conclusión que seguiré haciendo mis compras de verduras en la frutería, pues acá puedo obtener la variedad que busco, la calidad en las verduras que me gusta y puedo escoger libremente.

And after making my last stop at the shop next to my house I sat down to evaluate the prices in the shops I visited and the offer I bought the previous time.
In terms of quantities, I obviously bought more with the offer, but if I calculated the costs in the fruit and vegetable shop I visited, based on the quantities offered in the offer, the difference I got was minimal.
There was only a saving of 48 bs, which is about 0.8$. In addition to that, as I mentioned in that post, there were a few grams missing in certain vegetables.
So, is it a misleading offer? Not at all, but the savings are not as big as they make it out to be.
That's why I've come to the conclusion that I will continue to do my vegetable shopping at the greengrocer's, because here I can get the variety I'm looking for, the quality of the vegetables I like and I can choose freely.

Ocurre mucho eso de que a veces los trabajadores por estar locos por irse no hacen bien su trabajo, y realmente es una buena decisión que compres lo que necesitas solamente y no continúes comprando el combo ese pq así como dices a veces es una oferta engañosa, saludos amiga 🤗
Y las que pierden son ellas porque yo la verdad estaba bien relajada haciendo mis compras jaja sii ya me queda el aprendizaje y seguiré haciendo mis compras habituales adaptadas a nuestro menú. Saludos 💜
Lo bueno de hacer las compras uno mismo es que puedes escoger lo que necesitas y lo que te satisface, sin riesgos de que te den un vegetal o verdura en mal estado, al final es tu derecho. Pienso que lo mejor siempre y cuando puedas es comprar a tu criterio escogiendo lo que realmente necesitas, algo que no siempre podrás obtener en el combo. Saludos
