Today I want to talk about one of the adventures that we can get when visiting Villa de Leyva, and by my memories of 20 years ago, I know that in other places like Margarita Island in Venezuela also offered it, which are the tourist trips in Jeep.
Something that catches my attention is that in this place they call this vehicle "chiva" which I know also refers to a bus that has been remodeled to give a different experience to tourists, with music, drinks and a party atmosphere in general, instead this Jeep ride seemed more like a Safari than a party.
I was able to get this Jeep ride through a tour agency that offered them, and it cost me 100,000 COP (25 HBD) for the whole 2 hour ride, with a tour guide telling us parts of the history of the places we were visiting, including positive stories and not so positive stories for those who live in the town.
The ride felt great because I am a person who likes to feel the wind on my face, even more so when I am driving a vehicle that allows me to experience this more strongly, so the windowless Jeep is perfect in this sense.
Throughout the trip we could see other people who were riding horses to visit those places that we visited by Jeep, thus confirming that they are highly touristic places.
We could also see that there were Jeeps leaving with tourists every few minutes, and from different tour companies, so it is a highly recommended ride if you are going to visit Villa de Leyva at some point.

Buenas tardes Hivers, espero que estén teniendo un excelente día.
Hoy les quiero hablar de una de las aventuras que podemos conseguir al visitar Villa de Leyva, y por mis recuerdos de hace 20 años, se que en otros lugares como la isla de Margarita en Venezuela también lo ofrecían, que son los viajes turísticos en Jeep.
Algo que me llama la atención es que en este lugar llaman a este vehículo "chiva" que se que también se refiere a un autobús que ha sido remodelado para poder darle una experiencia diferente a los turistas, con música, bebidas y un ambiente de fiesta en general, en cambio este paseo en Jeep parecía más un Safari que una fiesta.
Pude conseguir este paseo en Jeep a través de una agencia de turismo que los ofrecía, y que me costó 100.000 COP (25 HBD) para todo el paseo de 2 horas, con un guía turístico que nos decía partes de la historia de los lugares que visitabanos, incluyendo historias positivas e historias no muy positivas para quienes viven en el pueblo.
El paseo se sentía muy bien porque soy una persona a quien le gusta sentir el viento en mi cara, más aún cuando estoy manejando un vehículo que permite experimentar esto con más fuerza, por lo que el Jeep sin ventanas es perfecto en este sentido.
A lo largo del viaje pudimos ver a otras personas que estaban montando caballos para visitar aquellos lugares que nosotros visitamos en Jeep, confirmando de esta manera que son lugares altamente turísticos.
También pudimos ver que habían Jeeps saliendo con turísticas cada pocos minutos, y de diferentes empresas de turismo, por lo que es un paseo muy recomendado si van a visitar Villa de Leyva en algún momento.

¡Qué buena experiencia! Villa de Leyva es un lugar increíble, y recorrerlo en Jeep suena como una gran aventura. Me gustó la comparación con un safari, definitivamente un paseo que vale la pena.
