When I got to the office two days ago,I was assigned to prepare a table of specification for the subject/course I teach . I quickly ran to one of my colleagues;Mr. Johnson who has done his own partly to to teach me how to prepare it. Mr. Johnson brought out his own to his own to explain how he arrived at where he was but I couldn't get it so clearly,I asked questions on every step of the task. I decided to kickstart the first step ,I used my notebook to sketch the diagram before putting in the various steps one after another. Infact it was a painstaking task which took me the whole day ,yet I couldn't finish the first step,then I became very tired and spent.
When I got home after closure from work ,I freshened up and continued on the task . Huh! to my greatest amazement,I was done with the first step, remaining two other steps before conclusion.
At exactly 4am yesterday,I was woken up by my usual phone alarm and I quickly rose from the bed.I didn't even think of any other thing than to bring out the notebook to start step two because I always like to meet up to scheduled time for any task . I am multitasking as well as being punctual in delivering task on time efficiently.
I quickly dived into the work and started the preparation of step the work and started the preparation of the step two. I was so amazed that I was able to finish the step two within an hour. I was so happy because the step three consist of the concluding part of the table which is not that painstaking and time consuming.I rose up and happily started preparing for work.
When I was done with the task,I must submit to the school management for corrections and appraisal. It was so sad to know that I was so disappointed when I was told by the management that I still have to type the work and print it out.I couldn't know what to do because typing and printing out of the work may consume lots of time and energy which may make me not to meet up to the deadline as planned. Suddenly I started feeling a slight headache, notwithstanding I still got to painstakingly start all over again and now it may take more than 4hours to finish it. I kept at the work painstakingly and suprisingly, after about three hours I was done with it.
It was about 6 pm that I got the job done and quickly submitted it for printing tomorrow. I boarded a car to my home,at this time my body was so weak and the headache now became more severe.
We drove to Galadima junction and a terrible traffic jam held us for hours at the junction, fortune we found another route of escape to the Jam ,The headache became more severe and now I started feeling feverish and all my joints were in pains.
When we got to Lokogoma Junction, I alighted from the vehicle.I looked at my left hand,then I saw a pharmaceutical shop. I managed my strength to get there.
Then I quickly asked the nurse the prices of some drugs. Her response almost swept off my feet off the ground.Imagine when I asked her the price of Augmentin,the nurse said that Augmentin drug is now 24,000 Naira.I was shocked because I bought this drug a month ago at 3500 naira .Same way Ventolin Inhaler increased from 1700 Naira to 18,000 Naira. The one that gave me the greatest shock was Seretide Inhaler I just bought for someone at 18,000 Naira is now 50,000 Naira.
I didn't know when I shouted and I quickly left the shop without buying my own drugs.Then I said to myself "Seriously the price of pharmaceutical essential drugs are skyrocketing in Nigeria. Try not to fall sick please" I said to myself as I boarded a motorcycle to my 🏠 house.
