It's a brand-new year my dearest hivers! How have you been my party peeps?
Another year has passed, and we now step into a fresh start — a time to manifest all the good things coming our way.
2024 was truly a year of growth for me — filled with firsts, breakthroughs, and the silent battles I fought alone, including the tough journey of dealing with personal heartbreaks. But I’m stepping into 2025 with renewed strength and anticipation for all the possibilities ahead.
In the Philippines, New Year's celebrations are often enjoyed with family, where people make noise to drive away evil spirits. It’s also customary to prepare twelve round fruits, along with basic necessities like sugar, salt, rice, and sweets (such as chocolates or candies), each symbolizing abundance and prosperity for the year ahead.
As for our family, we’ve kept our New Year’s Eve dinners simple over the years. This helps minimize food waste, especially since our neighbors also prepare their own spreads. Plus, we’ve never had much of an appetite at midnight, so we prefer to keep it low-key.
It’s also a Filipino tradition to wear clothing in the lucky colors of the year. According to Pantone, the color of the year is Chocolate Mousse. Since I didn’t have anything in that shade, I decided to go with purple, which is also considered a lucky color. If you pay attention to the color choices, you can easily tell which faction is which. Lol!
Jokes aside, our family also has a tradition of praying the rosary and blessing our home with holy water just before the clock strikes midnight. And of course, I ate twelve grapes under the table—let’s hope it works this year! IYKYK!

They say a goal that’s not written down is just a wish, so here I am, writing it down as a way to manifest my intentions for the year ahead.
Maintain a healthy mind and body – This year, I’m committed to getting back into the gym and staying active. It’s all about prioritizing my health and wellness.
A flourishing career – I pray that more opportunities will come my way, both in my day job and on this platform. My goal is to keep growing, improving, and remaining consistent in everything I do.
More concerts and travels - I’m all in on working smarter and budgeting better this year to make space for my passions—attending concerts and traveling the world. I’m manifesting that 2025 will be the year I finally check off my first international trip from my bucket list!
A year of romance - While I know love shouldn’t be rushed or forced, there’s no harm in wishing for some “kilig” moments this year. A tall, not-so-dark, and very handsome gentleman would do just fine, Lord! Bonus if they can headlock! Hehe
Courage to face what I’ve been avoiding – This may be TMI, but I’m praying for the strength to confront the things I’ve been running from. I’m ready to overcome them this year. Amen.
