Encuentro Cosplayer de Carnaval
Last weekend, specifically on Saturday March 1st, was held the Carnival Edition Cosplayer Meeting organized by the friends of Matsucon. The place? as always, the Crepuscular Mall that always opens its doors for this kind of events.
This mall is the one that always supports the Cosplay community and most of the Matsucon events are held there. It is located in the West Central area, near the passenger terminal and easily accessible.
El pasado fin de semana, concretamente el sábado 1 de marzo, se celebró el Carnival Edition Cosplayer Meeting organizado por los amigos de Matsucon. El lugar? como siempre, el Centro Comercial Crepuscular que siempre abre sus puertas para este tipo de eventos.
Este centro comercial es el que siempre apoya a la comunidad Cosplay y la mayoría de los eventos Matsucon se realizan allí. Está situado en la zona Centro Oeste, cerca de la terminal de pasajeros y de fácil acceso.

The Cosplayer Meeting started at two o'clock in the afternoon, from before that time young people started to arrive with their costumes. This time it was a meeting open to everyone, no matter if you were a cosplayer or not. Since it was Carnival, the announcement invited everyone to attend with some kind of costume for the carnival.
I arrived at two o'clock in the afternoon, when they were finalizing sound details on the central stage of the mall. Some chairs were set up so that part of the audience could sit down and be comfortable. Quickly the place was filling up with cosplayers, people celebrating the carnival and the general public passing by, eating at the food fair or shopping.
El Encuentro Cosplayer comenzó a las dos de la tarde, desde antes de esa hora empezaron a llegar jóvenes con sus disfraces. Esta vez era un encuentro abierto a todo el mundo, no importaba si eras cosplayer o no. Como era Carnaval, el anuncio invitaba a todo el mundo a asistir con algún tipo de disfraz para el carnaval.
Llegué a las dos de la tarde, cuando estaban ultimando detalles de sonido en el escenario central del centro comercial. Se colocaron algunas sillas para que parte del público pudiera sentarse y estar cómodo. Rápidamente el lugar se fue llenando de cosplayers, gente celebrando el carnaval y público en general que pasaba por allí, comiendo en la feria de comida o comprando.

Quite a few cosplayers attended. I saw several young people doing their first cosplayer, that's good, it means that more people are joining the cosplayer community in the city. They were happy and very excited about their first meeting. Both new and experienced cosplayers were chatting and taking pictures with each other. Everyone was having a good time.
Taking pictures and videos is what everyone does at these events. Everywhere people are walking around with their cell phones capturing every detail. I was able to take a lot of pictures and then at home I made a selection of photos for this publication.
Asistieron bastantes cosplayers. Vi a varios jóvenes haciendo su primer cosplayer, eso es bueno, significa que más gente se está uniendo a la comunidad de cosplayers en la ciudad. Estaban contentos y muy emocionados por su primer encuentro. Tanto los cosplayers nuevos como los experimentados charlaban y se hacían fotos entre ellos. Todos se lo estaban pasando bien.
Hacer fotos y vídeos es lo que hace todo el mundo en estos eventos. Por todas partes se pasea gente con sus móviles captando cada detalle. Pude hacer muchas fotos y luego en casa hice una selección de fotos para esta publicación.

The most anticipated moment of the event was the Cosplay Catwalk. All those who wanted to participate, went up to the central stage to make a brief representation of the character they were playing.
They had to divide into five groups, in each round, and it was with the applause of the audience when Rebiday, animator and organizer, selected the finalists. Once all the finalists were selected, a final round of audience support was held to choose the winners, who received a nice gift from Matsucon.
El momento más esperado del evento fue la Pasarela Cosplay. Todos los que quisieron participar, subieron al escenario central para hacer una breve representación del personaje que interpretaban.
Tuvieron que dividirse en cinco grupos, en cada ronda, y fue con los aplausos del público cuando Rebiday, animadora y organizadora, seleccionó a los finalistas. Una vez seleccionados todos los finalistas, se celebró una ronda final de apoyo del público para elegir a los ganadores, que recibieron un bonito regalo de Matsucon.

I met up again with a friend who also likes these events. He attends with his daughter. Like me, he enjoys the atmosphere and takes lots of photos for his website. We are one of the few who cover this kind of events.
This time there was only one booth, Matsucon's own, selling products from this niche. This month will be the fourth edition of the Kpop event, where there are also cosplayers.
Volví a reunirme con un amigo al que también le gustan estos eventos. Asiste con su hija. Como yo, disfruta del ambiente y hace muchas fotos para su página web. Somos de los pocos que cubrimos este tipo de eventos.
En esta ocasión sólo había un stand, el de la propia Matsucon, vendiendo productos de este nicho. Este mes será la cuarta edición del evento Kpop, donde también hay cosplayers.
At five o'clock in the afternoon the Encounter ended. I think it's great that everything ends early because I like to get home when there is still sunlight.

A las cinco de la tarde terminó el Encuentro. Me parece excelente que todo termine temprano porque me gusta llegar a casa cuando todavía hay luz solar.

I'm always surprised at how Team Fortress 2 characters are still culturally relevant enough for people to cosplay.
Me sorprende la cantidad de juventud que le gusta disfrazarse y ser por un momento personajes, me encanta! No se cual elegir todos me gustan, están bien realizados... conozco pocos personajes de esta época... será la edad? jajaja pero la chica león, felina, me encanta y el chico de verde, el rostro verde también.
Seguro disfrutaste mucho este evento, espero se den muchos más!!!
