Acaba de terminar una de las semanas laborales más intensas de mi vida. Hemos trabajado sobre el cansancio, pero siendo la música una protagonista constante en mis días se siente como si nunca tuviera que ir a trabajar realmente. Atrás quedaron aquellos días de papeleo en oficinas, las llamadas telefónicas en los call center y mis días de hacer hamburguesas en Mc Donald's. Soñé vivir de la música y lo hice realidad y días como ayer me hacen dar cuenta que todo valió la pena, disfrutando de momentos sublimes junto a mi suegra, mi mamá y mi esposa.
Just finished one of the most intense work weeks of my life. We've been working on fatigue, but with music being a constant protagonist in my days it feels like I never really have to go to work. Gone are those days of paperwork in offices, phone calls in call centers and my days of flipping burgers at McDonald's. I dreamed of making a living from music and I made it come true and days like yesterday make me realize that it was all worth it, enjoying sublime moments with my mother-in-law, my mom and my wife.
Ellas fueron nuestras invitadas a nuestro concierto junto Andrea Bocelli, y desde las primeras horas de espera estuvimos infiltrados en el público para acompañarlas y pasar un rato ameno con nuestras madres. Es impresionante como un artista puede gustar tanto a personas de distintas generaciones, y es que ni los más jóvenes ni los más mayores se resisten a la voz de este tenor. Disfrutamos cada momento, el Estadio Monumental de Caracas es impresionante y la cantidad de público asistente reunido en un solo lugar es algo que no se ve a diario, y menos para nuestras madres.
They were our guests at our concert with Andrea Bocelli, and from the first hours of waiting we were infiltrated in the audience to accompany them and spend a pleasant time with our mothers. It is impressive how an artist can be liked so much by people of different generations, and neither the youngest nor the oldest can resist the voice of this tenor. We enjoyed every moment, the Monumental Stadium in Caracas is impressive and the amount of audience gathered in one place is something that is not seen every day, especially for our mothers.
Ayer fue uno de esos días en que usamos nuestros privilegios como músicos. No tuvimos que pagar las costosas entradas, así que nuestras madres tuvieron el privilegio de asistir como invitadas de cortesía, aunque sé que no eran los mejores puestos respecto a visión, pero ellas no se dan mala vida y estaban ahí para corear tantas canciones conocidas y no perder la sonrisa. Siempre he dicho que para nosotros es más grato cuando ellas están en el público asistente, especialmente para mí, ya que este concierto coincide con el cumpleaños de mi mamá, así que el destino me ayudó con mi regalo para ella.
Yesterday was one of those days when we used our privileges as musicians. We didn't have to pay for the expensive tickets, so our mothers had the privilege of attending as courtesy guests, although I know they were not the best seats regarding vision, but they don't give themselves a hard time and were there to chant so many familiar songs and not lose their smiles. I have always said that for us it is more pleasant when they are in the audience, especially for me, since this concert coincides with my mom's birthday, so fate helped me with my gift for her.
La tarde fluyó con normalidad, y aunque el concierto tuvo un retraso de una hora y media para comenzar, todo salió muy bien. Fue muy emocionante tener una actividad distinta y de gran magnitud, creo que la última vez que estuvimos en un concierto con una audiencia tan masiva fue cuando vino el tenor Plácido Domingo en 2022 (si mal no recuerdo). Cantar con estos artistas es vivir un poco de nuestra música académica cotidiana, pero con la emoción de las estrellas de talla mundial, donde el público no le importa esperar que la orquesta termine de tocar para aplaudir, sino que nunca dejan de celebrar la emoción de estar ahí presentes. Más allá de la música, me hace muy feliz haber compartido esta experiencia con mi familia ❤️
The evening flowed normally, and although the concert was an hour and a half late to start, everything went very well. It was very exciting to have a different activity and of great magnitude, I think the last time we were in a concert with such a massive audience was when the tenor Placido Domingo came in 2022 (if I remember correctly). To sing with these artists is to experience a bit of our everyday academic music, but with the excitement of world-class stars, where the audience doesn't mind waiting for the orchestra to finish playing to applaud, but never stops celebrating the thrill of being there. Beyond the music, I am very happy to have shared this experience with my family ❤️
