Hello guys, first of all, I want to apologize because I haven't posted on my blog for a while; I've been very busy with university and home matters. However, today I'm at the university doing student duty, and I want to take this opportunity to share how my experience is going.
First, let me explain what student duty is here in Cuba.
The university student duty is a way for students to contribute to the security of their faculty, as there is no security staff, so teachers and students take turns doing these duties. However, since each faculty has various programs, they rotate these duties to avoid overloading students and teachers. I should clarify that these duties are unpaid; it’s free 😔, but it contributes to the overall development of the students.
Today we have three students on duty, but one of my classmates had to leave because she was called home since her grandmother had a sudden health issue.
Now we're passing the time talking about literature, Dante's inferno, the Divine Comedy, and other literary topics. A classmate from the social communication program brought us coffee.
I just went up to the dormitory, and life there is very lively and youthful. The students dedicate their time to playing guitar, some with their partners, others reading, and some joking around—just a typical university life.
A few minutes ago, I was trying to sleep at a table, but I couldn't fall asleep since the table is hard, and that's not comfortable for resting.

Hola chicos, primeramente quiero disculparme porque hace tiempo no publico en mi blog, he estado muy atareado con las cosas de la universidad y de mi casa. Sin embargo, hoy me encuentro en la universidad haciendo la guardia estudiantil, y quiero aprovechar esta oportunidad para contarles cómo está siendo mi experiencia.
Primeramente les diré qué es la guardia estudiantil aquí en Cuba.
La guardia estudiantil universitaria es una manera del estudiante contrubuir a la seguridad de su facultad, pues, la misma no tiene personal de guardia, entonces los profesores y estudiantes realizan estas guardias. Sin embargo, como en cada facultad hay varias carreras, las mismas se turnan y así no se agotan tanto los estudiantes ni los profesores. Aclararles que estas guardias no se pagan, es gratis😔, pero bueno, contribuye a la integralidad de los estudiantes
Hoy estamos tres estudiantes, pero una compañera tuvo que irse porque la llamaron de casa pues su abuela se puso mal de salud de momento.
Ahora estamos matando el tiempo hablando de literatura, del infierno de Dante, de la divina comedia y literatura.
Ahora un compañero de la carrera de comunicación social nos trajo café.
Ahorita subí a beca, y la vida ahí es muy activa, muy juvenil. Los jóvenes becados dedicaban su tiempo a tocar güitarra, unos con sus parejas, otros leyendo, otros haciendo chistes, en fin, una típica vida universitaria.
Hace unos minutos estaba durmiendo en una mesa, no pude dormirme, pues obviamente la mesa es dura y así no puedo dormir.
