WHAT I ORDERED VERSUS WHAT I GOT

in Lifestylelast month

It is one thing to have a skill or be in a field, it is another thing to be current, equipped and versatile in that skill or field.

Before you get me wrong, Something happened sometime last year. I told my hairstylist that I would like that picture A's hairstyle for Christmas as an intentional christian and a Nigerian. Of course, I don't want to look like what I'm going through when I travel back to the village for Christmas celebration. She said "consider it done customer." So, she charged me a lot of money which I agreed to pay since she promised it's gotta be same thing with the picture I showed her. She got into work and amazingly, this hairdo in picture B took me two good days. I lie not. But then, I told my self silently that it would certainly worth it at the end of the day.

Now, the most disappointing part is that I ended up with another totally different hairstyle against my wish. The stress and financial commitment doesn't equate to that hairstyle there in picture B.

I was so sad but what will I do? I carried it that way and vowed to be careful with whomever I will call my customer again in this year, 2025.

Hope I made the right decision. I want to hear your opinion about my decision in the comment section.

But I want to bring few things from my ordeal to your notice.

  1. In everyway right, endeavor to be the best in your craft.

  2. Upgrade is a necessity. No field or skill is ancient of days. Only God is. I will analyze this point in my next post, just anticipate.

  3. In that your field, don't fail to network. Networking is very essential if you must thrive. Make friends of great minds still in that field. Those you can look up to. Those that can challenge you to be better everyday.

  4. Be digital because this is a digital era: I don't fully blame the lady that made my hair this way because as of the time she made this hair in December, 2024, she was still using a Nokia torch phone. How will you know the latest trend, how will you know the knitty gritty of how those recent styles came about or you are depending on your intuition? It's that your 'non-digitalized' intuition that will cause an impatient and angry customer to give you a slap of your life. Smiles.

But what am I saying in essence, in all you do, strive to be the best.

The world which is our audience will just clap once for a particular new innovation and wait for other things you've got to offer .So now, what do you think will be the lot of a mediocre.

Everyone revere greatness and celebrates success.

Therefore, don't allow anything to be a limitation to your greatness, friend.

If it's ignorance, fight it with every fiber in you.

If it's laziness, stand up! And fight with every fiber in you

If it's low self esteem, fight it with everything in you. Who told you that you are meant for the floors. Strive for mastery at all cost, it will save you a lot of life's stress.

Nations are rooting for you, so don't disappoint them.
