¡Hola a todos! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes cómo fue mi cumpleaños número 27, que celebré antier 26 de marzo. Fue un día muy especial y divertido, lleno de sorpresas y buenos momentos con mi familia. Les voy a contar todo lo que pasó, desde que me desperté hasta que me fui a dormir. ¡Espero que les guste!
Hello everyone! Today I want to share with you how my 27th birthday was, which I celebrated the day before yesterday on March 26th. It was a very special and fun day, full of surprises and good moments with my family. I’m going to tell you everything that happened, from when I woke up until I went to sleep. Hope you like it!
Lo primero que hice al abrir los ojos fue abrazar a mi pareja, que me dio un beso y me felicitó por mi nuevo año de vida. Me dijo que tenía una sorpresa para mí, pero que tenía que esperar hasta llegar a casa de mis padres, donde íbamos a festejar mi cumpleaños. Me puse muy curioso y le pregunté qué era, pero no me quiso decir nada. Así que me levanté, me duché, me vestí y salimos rumbo a la casa de mis viejos.
The first thing I did when I opened my eyes was to hug my partner, who gave me a kiss and congratulated me on my new year of life. She told me she had a surprise for me, but that I had to wait until we got to my parents’ house, where we were going to celebrate my birthday. I got very curious and asked her what it was, but she didn’t want to tell me anything. So I got up, showered, dressed and headed to my parents’ house.
Cuando llegamos, ya se sentía el olor a carne asada que mi papá estaba preparando en el asador. Mi mamá estaba limpiando el patio. Mi hermano estaba ayudando con las bebidas y la música. Todos me recibieron con un abrazo y un "feliz cumpleaños" muy cariñoso. Me sentí muy feliz de verlos y de estar con ellos en este día tan importante.
When we arrived, we could already smell the grilled meat that my dad was preparing on the grill. My mom was cleaning the patio. My brother was helping with drinks and music. Everyone greeted me with a loving hug and a “happy birthday”. I felt very happy to see them and to be with them on this important day.
Mi papá me invitó a tomar un trago de whisky que había comprado para la ocasión. Brindamos por mi cumpleaños y por la familia. Luego me dijo que me quedara a cargo de la carne mientras él y mi mamá iban a comprar maíz para hacer unos tamales. Me dio unas indicaciones de cómo darle vuelta a la pierna de cerdo y cuánto tiempo tenía que estar en el fuego. Yo acepté el encargo con gusto, aunque no soy muy bueno en la cocina.
My dad invited me to have a drink of whiskey that he had bought for the occasion. We toasted to my birthday and to family. Then he told me to take care of the meat while he and my mom went to buy corn to make some tamales. He gave me some instructions on how to turn the pork leg and how long it had to be on the fire. I gladly accepted the task, although I’m not very good in the kitchen.
Después de un rato, mis padres volvieron con el maíz y se pusieron manos a la obra con los tamales. Mi mamá me dijo que ya podía dejar la carne y que entrara a la casa a descansar un poco. Yo le hice caso y entré al salón, donde me esperaba una gran sorpresa: ¡dos panetelas con velas encendidas! Mi familia se puso a cantarme el "cumpleaños feliz" y yo soplé las velas con mucha emoción. Luego cortamos las panetelas y las repartimos entre todos. Estaban deliciosas.
After a while, my parents returned with the corn and got to work on the tamales. My mom told me I could leave the meat and go inside to rest for a bit. I listened to her and went into the living room, where a big surprise awaited me: two cakes with lit candles! My family sang “Happy Birthday” to me and I blew out the candles with great excitement. Then we cut the cakes and shared them among everyone. They were delicious.
Por último, nos sentamos a comer la carne asada y los tamales que habían quedado espectaculares. Mi papá sacó otra botella de whisky y brindamos nuevamente por mi cumpleaños y por la familia. Yo les di las gracias por todo lo que habían hecho por mí y por estar siempre a mi lado. Les dije que los quería mucho y que este había sido el mejor regalo que podía recibir: pasar un día maravilloso e irrepetible con ellos.
Finally, we sat down to eat the grilled meat and the tamales that had turned out spectacular. My dad brought out another bottle of whiskey and we toasted again to my birthday and to family. I thanked them for everything they had done for me and for always being by my side. I told them that I loved them very much and that this had been the best gift I could receive: spending a wonderful and unforgettable day with them.
