Tamp Cafe and Co. is a coffee shop and restaurant with four branches spread out all over Cebu City. Formerly known as Tazza Cafe and Patisserie, it offers a variety of food in their menu perfect to pair with their drinks that ranges from hearty caffeine options to refreshing teas and juices.
Hello, Hive! I am once again blogging about a coffee shop (as one should). I feel that this cafe is more different because it leans towards a more commercialized side relative to the cafes I’ve blogged about in the past. This is mostly because they have a lot of branches and are in more strategic, easy to find locations. Commercialization doesn’t necessarily mean bad or good, I think it can be different depending on the restaurant itself.
Amongst the four branches of Tamp, I have visited three already and so far, they have never let me down. For this blog, I’ll be sharing about my experience in Tamp -Banilad Town Center in Banilad, Cebu City. I really like this location because it is very accessible especially for people who have errands to run in Banilad Town Center. In our case, we get our motorcycle washed and our groceries in Banilad Town Center.
It was not in our intentions to have dinner in Tamp because we just ate, but we thought that while we were there, we might as well.
For drinks, I had a soothing hot calamansi juice. It was perfect for the cold weather Cebu has been experiencing at that time and the serving was generous, I think it’s very much worth the price.
For starters, I had a Truffled Mushroom Soup and for the main course, I had a Chicken Parmigiana. Their Chicken Parmigiana was actually recognized by a local newspaper for being the best pasta dish in Cebu. I personally think that it is debatable just because there are plenty of restaurants in Cebu that serve exquisite pasta. It’s still really good, but in my opinion, there are plenty of other pasta dishes in the City.
My favorite part as a cheapskate is the dessert. For one order of a main dish, a customer can get one slice of cake for one peso or about 0.02 US dollars. I ordered their ube halaya flavored cake and it was delectable, worth way more than what I paid for it.
I would categorize Tamp Cafe & Co. with the more generic coffee shops in Cebu and I feel like a lot of younger people aren’t really drawn to it because restaurants that are more niched down offer a form of exclusivity and I feel that the younger generation has quite an obsession with that. Hence, smaller, more difficult to find cafes can be more appealing to the younger crowd. At the end of the day, to each their own and there is space in Cebu for preferences.
Thank you for taking the time to read this blog! I’m so glad to write about yet another cafe; I hope that you enjoyed this one.
The cafe looks very clean and nice. To be honest I love that blue cake, maybe I’m hungry 😂.
It was really nice
I like the color of the cafe and it's very aesthetic 💗
I think so too
