Arriving at a hostel can be overwhelming, but my experience was different. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and welcoming gestures. However, the gifts I received from my junior stood out.
First, I got a beautifully designed card with kind words and a little heart. Reading it made me feel like I belonged and was accepted.

Then, I was given a lovely gajra, which is a traditional flower garland in Pakistan. It smelled amazing and was made with fresh jasmine and rose. It felt like an official welcome into their community or friend circle.
Even though these gifts were small, they meant a lot to me. They showed me that the people at the hostel were caring and kind and that they wanted me to feel at home. These gestures left a lasting impression on me and reminded me how important it is to show kindness to others.
I kept the card on my desk and the gajra in a special place where I could see them every day. Whenever I felt homesick or out of place, they served as a reminder that I had people who cared about me.
Overall, the welcome card and gajra that my junior gifted me at the hostel were two small but significant gestures that made me feel welcomed, valued and cared for. They were symbols of kindness, generosity, and friendship, and I will always cherish them.
