Painting Kit During Contemplation

in Lifestyle28 days ago (edited)

Hello, Hivers... how are you all? I'm glad to be able to say hello back here. By the way... do you guys also sometimes take time out for contemplation? I usually set a time to do so periodically. But, don't worry, my version of contemplation doesn't mean going into a cave, or staying at home for days on end, or meditation and stuff like that.

.
What I call a time for contemplation is when I detox from using social media like: Instagram, WhatsApp, or Facebook. I also consciously limit my social interactions. Why is that? Sometimes I want a break from the hustle and bustle associated with interacting with many people. Besides, this periodic social media detox really helps me to pay more attention to myself. I can understand myself better, and I can also be more mindful to fill my daily activities that don't involve many people.

Therefore, while enjoying things alone, I bought some drawing kit. Actually, my interest in drawing has been there since childhood, however, because I was reluctant to try to explore, let alone play with colors, finally, I was stuck just doodling with pencils or pens. It was only when some time ago, I met a community friend, and he happened to be a surrealist painter, that I became infected with his enthusiasm to try again. I finally bought four basic painting kit items, such as: acrylic paint, a set of brushes, a sketchbook, and a wooden palette.

For the paint, I deliberately chose acrylic because I was inspired by my friend. But because this is my first try, I only chose the small size with 18 colors. still each tube contains 6ml. I chose the basic color variant.

Then, because this was just a trial and error, I didn't immediately buy a canvas, instead I thought of applying my acrylic paint with an A5 sketchbook containing 20 sheets.

What about the brushes? I knew that it would take a lot of brush models to create a masterpiece, however, I still chose the basics. So, this set of 10 brushes was my choice. These brushes include: round brush with numbers 1, 2, 2/0, 3, and 5. while Flat brush with numbers 6 and 5/8. then, filbert brush with numbers 4 and 8. the material of this brush is premium nylon.

Then the last is the painting palette. From many varieties of palettes, I chose one made of lightweight oval-shaped board with a size of 29x21.

That's how our painting that I bought looked like. When it arrives, I'll try it out that day, and then let me show you, okay?
