Hoy martes el plan era quedarnos en casa viendo películas, pero definitivamente eso es algo que podíamos dejar para cualquier otra ocasión. Sabíamos que en varios sitios de la ciudad había programaciones para atender a las familias con recreadores, cuerpo de seguridad y el transporte suficiente para ir, pasar un rato y compartir entre todas las personas que decidieran acercarse a los sitios turísticos.
Today, Tuesday, the plan was to stay at home watching movies, but that is definitely something we could leave for another occasion. We knew that in several places in the city there were programs to cater to families with recreationists, security corps and enough transportation to go, spend some time and share among all the people who decided to approach the tourist sites.
Así que luego de levantarnos bien tarde por la mañana, un buen desayuno y almuerzo, entonces nos preparamos para salir rumbo al parque Ayacucho, que en días recientes fue restaurado y abierto al público. Cuenta con varias ventajas. Es un espacio amplio, donde se puede disfrutar del parque y del ambiente al mismo tiempo. Si te quieres alejar de la aglomeración, también puedes hacerlo.
So after getting up late in the morning, a good breakfast and lunch, we prepared to leave for Ayacucho Park, which was recently restored and opened to the public. It has several advantages. It is a large space, where you can enjoy the park and the environment at the same time. If you want to get away from the crowds, you can do that too.
Para nosotros lo más importante es la cercanía a nuestro hogar, solo es cuestión de agarrar un taxi a una cuadra de nuestra casa y nos deja en todo el frente del parque. De regreso es la misma aventura. Así que es ideal para nosotros, por la comodidad y por el fácil acceso.
For us the most important thing is the proximity to our home, it's just a matter of taking a cab one block from our house and it drops us off in front of the park. On the way back it is the same adventure. So it's ideal for us, because of the convenience and easy access.
Llegamos y Jeremías estaba ansioso por probar cada una de las atracciones. No me dio casi ni tiempo de saludar a unos primos que nos encontramos en la entrada, pues mi pequeño gigante ya me llevaba unos cuantos pasos por delante. Así que tocaba saludar con rapidez y seguir el ritmo de mi compañero fiel.
We arrived and Jeremiah was eager to try each of the attractions. I didn't even have time to greet some cousins we met at the entrance, because my little giant was already a few steps ahead of me. So I had to say hello quickly and keep up with my faithful companion.
El parque estaba repleto, en verdad me sorprendió, puesto que era el último día de asueto, casi como un domingo cualquiera por la tarde. Sin embargo, el parque estaba colapsado en la zona de las atracciones para los niños. Es algo que no me gusta mucho porque soy de los padres a los que les gusta estar bien atentos. Busco no descuidar a Jere en ningún instante, en fin busco la prevención ante todo y cuando hay muchas personas como en este día se me dificulta un poco esta tarea tan importante para mí.
The park was packed, I was actually surprised, since it was the last day of vacation, almost like any other Sunday afternoon. However, the park was crowded in the area of the children's attractions. This is something I don't like very much because I am one of those parents who like to be very attentive. I try not to neglect Jere at any time, in short, I look for prevention above all and when there are many people as on this day it is a little difficult for me this task so important to me.
Quizás lo que falta en los alrededores es una venta de comida más sana. Tuvimos que conformarnos con el negocio de comida rápida que está al frente del parque. Es bastante accesible, según los precios, pero no deja de ser comida chatarra, pero sí alcanza para amortiguar un poco mientras se llega a casa. Antes habíamos salido a buscar a varias calles del parque, pero los precios eran algo exagerados y tuvimos que declinar de esa opción.
Perhaps what is missing in the surrounding area is a healthier food store. We had to make do with the fast food place in front of the park. It is quite affordable, according to the prices, but it is still junk food, but it is enough to cushion a little while you get home. We had previously gone out to look for food on several streets of the park, but the prices were a bit exaggerated and we had to decline that option.
Bastante contento con la organización dentro del parque, algo que no se había visto. Tienen seguridad en varios sitios estratégicos a cargo de los entes de seguridad pública, pero además cuentan con un grupo de asistentes que apoyan en la organización y el comportamiento de los asistentes, casi como si fuesen unos guardaparques. No sé hasta cuándo puede durar esto, porque mantener una plantilla de trabajadores tan extensa creo que puede ser algo complicado, pero siempre esperando que se mantenga, por el bien de estas personas que se les abrió esta fuente de trabajo. Lo segundo es que el parque había fallado siempre en el mantenimiento de sus instalaciones y esto puede ser un compromiso para estar más atentos a este tema.
I was quite happy with the organization inside the park, something I had not seen before. They have security in several strategic places in charge of the public security agencies, but they also have a group of assistants who support the organization and behavior of the attendees, almost as if they were park rangers. I don't know how long this will last, because maintaining such an extensive staff of workers can be complicated, but I always hope that it will be maintained, for the sake of these people who have been given this source of work. The second thing is that the park had always failed in the maintenance of its facilities and this could be a commitment to be more attentive to this issue.
