Benue state is one of the North central state in Nigeria .The state name(benue) was derived from the River Benue which is the second largest River in nigeria.
The name FOOD BASKET OF THE NATION
was given to benue state becuase it is tich in agricultural produce such as:yamtuber,potatoes,casssava,millet,coco yam and many more.
This state is populated with different ethnics group like:Tiv ,Akweya,Nyifon, Abakpa ,Etulu ,Idoma ,Igede, Jukun, Hausa and Igbo too. The Tiv people are mainly occupant of about 3/4 of the state.
Tiv people are mostly farmers and those that live around the Riverine area are fishermen.
The people are also well known for their cheerfulness and hospitaliable behaviour.

*The dajo pottery,sitted in Markurdi the capital of benue state.
The Dajo pottery is a centre where local pots are made traditionally.
The Montane Game reserve centre where games are played and animals are in their natural habitats.
The Enamabia Warm spring which is particularly known for its warm water.
The Ushongo Hills. It has a good climate that give its visitors fufilling spot for relaxation.
And many other places too.The Tiv people are also known as good dancers.
