Greeting, Fabulous Felines and Hoomans of Hivelandia and surrounding communities!

Somehow, we have already arrived at another weekend, and that means it's time for another Caturday update! As you know, Caturday is my favorite day of the week because it is on this day every week we get to share cat pictures all around the Internet.

Naturally, we have another dose of good photos for you this week because we have kittens in the house and even though they are already growing into young cats (after just a month with us), they still do get up to all sorts of things that make for adorable photographs!

One of the things we have noticed this past week is that Shangri and Nala now are starting to explore the house independently of each other.

Previously, they always stayed very close to each other as they went nosing around the place but they're feeling a little more safe in their surroundings now and are developing their own personalities and quirks.

Most recently, the Hoomans opened up the downstairs half of the house for them to explore and they have taken to that quite well, and now spend a large part of their days camped out in the multiple cat trees that live in the Dad-Hooman's office!

This is interesting... I think I like it!

Of course, it has not just been about exploring... there are also new experiences.

Like the big TV downstairs, which is fascinating when the Mom-Hooman puts on one of those "Kitty TV" channels on YouTube!

Our local "cat circus" is a little quieter than normal this weekend because the Mom-Hooman has gone to Seattle again to visit with the Daughter-Hooman. I expect this will happen more and more often because the Daughter-Hooman is "in a family way!" In any case, it's just the Dad-Hooman taking care of all the cats for a couple of days.

We do our best to make sure he has a right and proper challenge on his hands! After all, we wouldn't want him to grow complacent in his cat minding duties!

Thankfully, it has been a gray and somewhat rainy day outside, so he had to be inside which means there is a better chance for him to play with us cats! Indeed, he did take regular breaks from his work for playtime... and for picture taking.

We're very grateful that everyone is still getting along as well as they are... even feeding time goes by without any incidents, and and "resource guarding" has not been an issue... although that might only be something that applies to dogs.

Smudge remains quite content to only occasionally have kitten visits... she's not as quick and mobile as she once was, of course, but the kittens seem to understand an old cat when they see one, and mostly just give her lots of rubs and headbonks, and all is well.

As we get deeper in towards the end of the year, I am again looking a bit at my Hive goals for this year and remain cautiously optimistic that we might make it to 5,000 Hive Power by the end of 2024. At least we'll get close!

Not sure the crypto markets are doing much of anything at the moment... and I have pretty much given up on that and can only hope that our progress will eventually be helped by a bit of an altcoin rally that also lifts Hive for a while.

This little cat blog isn't exactly anyone's retirement account, but now that we have four cats in the house, it would at least be nice if we could build a bit of a "reserve fund" for any unexpected vet bills.
