It's not Saturday, but it feels like it. Christmas day in Venezuela always has that feeling.
Not many businesses opened, not much to do for most of us. Speaking of businesses, I have been taking pictures of what seems to be a trend in Caracas: Cats in stores. Today, being a rather lazy day, I thought it might be the perfect day to shared these pictures with You.
From small bodegas to shoe stores in malls, cats are everywhere here.
In línea with feline personality, all these business cats act like they own the places.
It's like you have to ask them for permission to shop. They look pampered, well-fed and usually accept customers' caresses.
Given the current campaign to protect animals and the social media massification of pets as celebrities, I think that these pets are working as a marketing strategy.
They certainly know how to attract customers' attention.
They act like they know what You want and they can take care of it.
In some places, with more than one cat, they compete to help customers just like human employees fighting for a commission.
Some of them behave like ushers.
Others like lazy doormen.
There are still tons of cats in the streets. There are also anonymous héroes who make sure they do not lack food.
However, in some places over-population is becoming an issue and some little ones struggle to survive among unsanitary environments.
There is not a cat-free place in this city and some of them seem very aptly named.
Thank you very much
