Last Saturday we had a concert and my mom's visit in town, so it had to be a special lunch and enough to last the hours on stage. We took a shortcut to our favorite restaurant and when we passed by the planters in the plaza, what seemed to be a special Saturday turned into a perfect Caturday 😻 the michis were coming and going everywhere and endearing themselves with their fun witticisms.
El Sábado pasado teníamos concierto y la visita de mi mamá en la ciudad, así que tenía que ser un almuerzo especial y lo suficiente para aguantar las horas en tarima. Tomamos un atajo hacia nuestro restaurante preferido y cuando pasamos por las jardineras de la plaza, lo que parecía ser en Sábado especial se convirtió en un perfecto Caturday 😻 los michis iban y venian por todas partes y se hacían querer con sus divertidas ocurrencias.
Don't be fooled by their sad faces, although they are indeed street cats, and we know that life is not easy for them out there, they have found a way to be happy in a herd. They are in one of the most beautiful squares in the city, there are several dozen of them and they all get along well and people feed them daily and at any time of the day, we save them from our lunch.
No se dejen engañar por sus rostros tristes, aunque sí son gatos de la calle, y sabemos que la vida no es fácil para ellos allá afuera, han encontrado la manera de ser felices en manada. Están en una de las plazas más hermosas de la ciudad, son varias docenas y todos se llevan bien y las personas los alimentan a diario y a cualquier hora del día, nosotros mismos les guardamos de nuestro almuerzo.
Usually they wander all over the plaza, mothers and children running to the dogs that people take for walks 😹 but that Caturday boy was it hot and I discovered that they take over the planters in the plaza. We are crazy, especially me who was in formal dress and was there under the midday sun, just to try to take a good cat picture 🤣
Generalmente se pasean por toda la plaza, madres e hijos corriendo a los perros que las personas llevan de paseo 😹 pero ese Caturday vaya que hacía calor y descubrí que se apoderan de las jardineras de la plaza. Nosotros estamos locos, especialmente yo que estaba vestido formal y estaba ahí bajo el sol del medio día, solo para intentar tomar una buena fotografía gatuna 🤣
I hate cats living on the street, they all deserve to be warm in a loving home. The cats in the window boxes surprise me, they are quite trusting with people, but it makes me think that collectively people help them in some way. It is not the first time I see them, but it is the first time I see them hiding from the sun. In this square there is also a big roofed place, so they should be fine even on rainy days.
Odio que los gatos vivan en la calle, todos ellos merecen estar calentitos en un hogar lleno de amor. Los gatos de las jardineras me sorprendes, son bastante confiados con las personas, pero ,e hace pensar que colectivamente la gente los ayuda de alguna manera. No es primera vez que los veo, pero si la primera es que los veo ocultarse del sol. En esta plaza también hay un gran lugar techado, así que deberían estar bien también en los días de lluvia.
Generally my Caturdays are near the music venue where I work, there all the musicians take food to the dozen cats in the area, those are more suspicious and difficult to photograph, but I would not mind visiting these beautiful cats more often. I insist that they look happy despite being from the street and they are big, but several of them are injured. If you live in Caracas you can visit them and bring them love, these are the planters of the Plaza del Banco Central de Venezuela, in Altagracia 😽
Generalmente mis Caturdays son cerca de la sede musical donde trabajo, ahí todos los músicos les llevamos comida a la docena de gatos que hay en la zona, esos son más desconfiados y difícil de fotografiar, pero no me molestaría visitar más seguido a estos hermosos. Insisto en que se ven felices a pesar de ser de la calle y son grandes, pero varios están lastimados. Si vives en Caracas puedes visitarlos y llevarles amor, estás son las jardineras de la Plaza del Banco Central de Venezuela, en Altagracia 😽
