Coaching
You guys will know by now that I volunteer as a football coach at Salthill Devon. My children play with the club, so I decided to get involved as well and I must say it's a great way to spend quality time with your kids and to get to know your kid's friends and their parents as well.
I've been coaching now for four years and I've been learning loads as I go and attended six or seven FAI and UEFA training courses and am a official UEFA D license grassroots coach now, which is pretty cool.
Barcelona
At our club Salthill Devon, each year the U12 teams go on a trip to Barcelona with the boys. This year it's the turn of one of the team's that I coach. This October we will fly to Barcelona to take part in an International football tournament.
In order to get the best gear for the boys and help to subsidise the cost of the trip, we will plan fundraising activities.
The first of these was a table quiz, which I organised last Thursday. We charged €50 per table on the night and sold 25 tables, which was the maximum possible.
We also sold raffle tickets for €3 or 5 for €10 and here's a list of the prizes we had on offer.
Not bad eh....
Ok, what has this got to do with Beer Saturday?
Well I was Quizmaster for the quiz and it was thirsty work, so I had some nice cold pints of Galway Bay gold IPA and they went down a treat.
Until next time Beer Saturdayorians...
Oh by the way...
How was your Beer Saturday?
Where were you?
What was the drink of choice?
Who was with you?
