This is my post to Beer Saturday hosted by @detlev 🍺
This week I've been on vacation at a resort on the German-Polish border on the Baltic Ocean, so I have plenty of beers to share. While we were there, my partner and daughter went to see the sea as often as they could and went swimming in the family pool, while I enjoyed beer, sauna, reading books etc. I did not miss the opportunity to enjoy three beers during my short 3-day/2-night stay.
On the first day, we arrived at the hotel at night and went to a nearby convenience store to buy beer. Despite being a small store, it had a pretty good selection of beers.
Although I was interested in IPAs and ales, I fell in love with the word "strong" at first sight and chose this beer with a slightly higher alcohol content. First of all, I have to say that this beer was my favorite hard-core beer that I had during my stay. It was not insanely strong, but properly bitter, refreshing, and delicious.
On the second day of my stay, I bought an IPA from the series I was interested in on the first day. Although the bottle design is good, I probably shouldn't buy beer for its stylishness.... especially when I expect traditional hard-core beer taste.
It didn't have a great punch, and I thought I personally prefer a more beer-beer beer. But it's good. Any beer is good while watching the sea 🍻.
On the last day, my paetner and daughter left me at a cafe to watch our luggage because they wanted to go see the seaahore, so I decided to have my final beer there. It wasn't as strong as the first day's beer, but it was a good old style beer and was just right for a light drink at lunch time.
And there is additional one during … As is very common on Deutsche Bahn, the return train connection was messed up (due to a severe thunderstorm, according to their explanation) and it would take twice as long from Berlin to Leipzig, and the platform was very crowded with those who supposed to take earlier train. So we decided to stay one night in Berlin.
We arrived at a hotel chain of which my partner is a member and I enjoyed a bottle of Arolser.
Happy Beer Saturday!
