In Prague, a big celebration - from Friday to Sunday (19-21.06), the first beer festival after the lockdown - "Permanent & Friends letní minifestiválek" was held. The beer festival was held on the territory of the former truck factory “Pragovka”, which is a brownfield, but there is gradually undergoing reconstruction, which will turn this place into office centers. Pragovka is located near the Kolbenova metro station, so it was possible to get to the festival from the city center in 15 minutes. On the territory of "Pragovka" there is a beer bar-summer terrace "Permanent bar", which organized a beer festival. Permanent is built in sea containers, one of which serves as a bar, the second as a kitchen, and the third as a refrigerator, where beer is stored and connected to the tap system. A very pleasant place, even without a festival, so in the warm season I can recommend a visit.
The beer festival "Permanent & Friends letní minifestiválek" invited 6 friendly breweries that presented their beer to guests - Axiom (where I work), Trilobit, Cobolis, Permon, Falkenstejn, Libertas. Thus, visitors to the festival could taste more than 30 types of beer from all over the Czech Republic, as only Cobolis and Trilobit from Prague, Axiom from Moravia, Falkenstejn from Northern Bohemia, and Permon from Western Bohemia.
If we talk about the styles of beer, then in addition to the usual styles of bottom fermentation, variations on the theme of ale varieties were widely represented, both with classic hops that give citrus aroma, as well as representatives of the southern hemisphere and tropical notes. Naturally, our Axiom brewery introduced sour styles that we cook on a regular basis - Berliner Weisse with raspberries, Berliner Weisse with passion fruit, sour IPA. Also, colleagues from Trilobit and Cobolis brought a variety of Berliner Weisse.
Since there were continuous rains during the three days of the beer festival in Prague, very few people visited “Prague” according to the organizers' estimates, about 1,500 people in 3 days, but the atmosphere was very emotional, people drank a lot, ate, talked with each other and with the brewers so that everyone was satisfied.
The next beer festival in Prague will be held on Friday June 26th and it will be the Cobolis Beer & Food Fest, in the square near the Ladvi Culture House (Ladvi metro), a report on which I will definitely prepare for you.
