Trying Tsingtao for #BeerSaturday

in BEER4 days ago (edited)

Hello, Hivers and Beer lovers!

It's the last Saturday of 2024, so it's proper to share a beer experience for #Beersaturday and close the year🍻

A couple of months ago, on my previous visit to Bogotá, my husband and I went to an Asian food place called Koi Asian Kitchen. It's curious but unlike Caracas, where there are a lot of Chinese or Japanese restaurants, here it's more common of an Asian food restaurant style with a more diverse offering of dishes from different Asian countries.

On the drinks menu of the place, besides the local beers, which are the ones I usually go for, there was a Chinese beer called Tsingtao.

We had never tried a Chinese beer before so we were curious and of course, we ordered it.

Tsingtao is a pale golden color Lager beer.

From the manufacturer's website

Unique and prolonged fermentation process to create a crisp and refreshing beer with malty aroma.
ABV: 4.7%

I thought it tasted nice, maybe a little mild if you like full-bodied beers. But I found it very refreshing and it was perfect for our meal.

To have with our beers we ordered wontons and a salad of finely chopped vegetables with crispy white fish.

I really liked the salad and the breaded fish was crispy and had a fresh taste.

And then we ordered some Nori Tacos. This is the second time I've had Nori Tacos. They are made with crispy nori seaweed instead of corn tortilla. The first time I had them was also in Bogota on a trip earlier this year.

I really liked the ones at this place. We ordered some with salmon filling and some with crab salad which was slightly spicy. Have you ever tried Nori Tacos?

The illuminated sign next to our table. Asian Kitchen Lover. Are you one of those?

Have you ever tried Tsingtao Beer? Tell me in the comments.

This is my entry to #BeerSaturday week 391. And of course I have to ask my friend Super Ed @tengolotodo if you have any beer experience to share with us before the end of the year and write a post with at least 3 pictures.

Thank you for reading. Cheers 🍻

Thank you querida and I shall be joining in after dinner. Appropriately enough I have a trio of cheeky rascals to share!

Now then, make me jealous with all that seafood why don't you!
I have not tried the Nori tacos, but I love seaweed so that sounds like something I would love.
As for Tsingtao we get it here and I have tried it and yes it would go well with you food. They actually sell it in quite big bottles.
Thanks for making my mouth water and I hope you have a wonderful Hogmanay Super Eli 💙

I don't know if Nori Tacos would appeal to you. I know you're not a sushi fan, Super Ed! And I can't imagine liking Nori Tacos and not sushi, I don't know ... maybe , hehe.

A magic Hogmanay for you Super Ed 💙

Meal looks simply delicious, not food I have tried. Enjoying it with a light beer, why not, we never know till we do the taste test.

Enjoy the last couple of days in the year, thanks for details, should I miss you I'm sending wishes now for a Happy 2025, it's just around the corner.

Dear Joan! How are you? I heard from Lizelle what happened to your husband with the snakebite and the complications that followed. I know you are going through a difficult time. I send you a big hug and hope your husband's health can improve.

Best wishes to you and your family in 2025, may the year bring you peace, health, prosperity and joyful days.

Thanks for kind wishes and thoughts, we live one day at the time with husband now in a frail care home.

Happy New Year to you and your family!

Cheers! 🍻
It's the same here; Chinese restaurants have Chinese beers, and I order it when we go out to eat Chinese food (we don't often).
Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!!
Cheers 🍻

You have really surprised me, dear friend @coquicoin, with this Chinese beer. It's great to know about it and the characteristics of its flavor.

You have made an excellent choice of meals to accompany a smooth beer.

What a great way to close the year, sharing with everyone this Chinese beer tasting experience.

For a 2025 full of hope, happy and prosperous moments.

Thank you!
My best wishes for you and your family in the new year.
Abrazos!

vi que es muy nombrada y aun no la he probado, hay un solo lugar en mi ciudad donde la venden y cuando pueda probare una :D

Si tienes la oportunidad pruébala, a mi me gustó.

Ohh, food looks nice! I love Chinese food. And yeah, that beer sounds like a great match to your meal.

Never tried nori tacos. I'm sure they're a bomb! 🤤🤤🤤

Yes, hehe! Nori Tacos are a bomb! So if you have a chance try them.

Honestly.... and this might be wrong of me to have assumed... but I never even thought that you'd get something like Chinese beer... didn't think they would drink beer🫣

If I ever get the chance I'll surely try it!!

!BEER

Hehe! Well, if you have the chance and you like Lager beers, try it ;)

my initial thoughts too! lol.

As I' am in Malaysia and Chinese food here is you can get daily, and I never get bored with Beer as always. So, I could say is have fun enjoy each sip of Beer with yummy food.

Cheers! 🍻
