The other is they actually care about the brewing process, don't save on ingedients, and are not afraid to produce batches of same beer with a tad different tastes.
I don't know about the Scottish situation, but the difference among industrial and craft brews here in Czechia is huge.
Same in most countries I think, what gets exported is the mass produced stuff with cheap ingredients. Local craft brews often use the best ingredients, but they cost, and I know with the cost of living still going up no matter what the government says, I have noticed some craft breweries shutting down as they can't go on.
Fortunately, beer is too important to us to let the craft breweries shut down :) Quite the opposite - they keep booming here :))
