Hello fellow beer lovers, I had a dental procedure and was unable to drink any type of alcoholic beverage, but I couldn't miss out on #beersaturday 380. Given the situation, I decided to get to know other areas of beer gastronomy, the famous non-alcoholic beers.
When I mentioned to a group of friends that I was going to drink this type of beer, the members started to mention myths and popular beliefs about this variety that is increasingly present on the shelves of Brazilian stores. Given all this fallacy, I decided to write this post to list some interesting facts and dispel some myths that permeate the minds of some people.
MYTHS AND TRUTHS
Non-alcoholic beer contains alcohol: it's true, beers with up to 0.5% alcohol content are considered non-alcoholic, however, there are some varieties that can reach a percentage of 0.0%. This percentage of up to 0.5% does not prevent you from driving a vehicle and does not affect your breathalyzer test.
Can pregnant women drink non-alcoholic beer: this is a big problem, pregnant women should avoid alcohol, this includes non-alcoholic beers, but if you want to drink, this is the best option. Remember that beer increases the risk of complications during pregnancy, this is the time in life when we should avoid drinks or drink in moderation.
Non-alcoholic beer has no flavor: this is a big myth, this surprised me, non-alcoholic Heineken has the same flavor as traditional beer, it even maintains the bitterness. It was a big surprise, but I believe that this should not happen with all varieties, buy quality beer.
Some people say that non-alcoholic beer is medicinal: this is a big myth, it is not associated with medication, however, it has some benefits related to hydration of the body, it has more water in its composition, it is less caloric and it is free of added sugar. The use of B vitamins is mentioned on its label and best of all, you can drive.
Non-alcoholic beer does not make you fat, you will not get a belly: this is a big myth, despite not having added sugar, it contains ingredients that are associated with several health problems such as obesity. My friend, if you thought you would not get that little belly drinking this type of beer, forget it, exercise to keep your body in shape and be able to drink more.
This type of beer is with gas: myth and total madness, I don't know where people get these stories from.

Come on guys, if I were to list everything, I would practically write a book, this post serves as a help for people who have some doubts about this type of beer. I didn't mention everything, but it was quite clear that this variety maintains the original standards, "eliminating" only the alcohol from its composition.
My lunch was accompanied by the presence of a Heineken with 0.0% alcohol, my first experience in this field of beer, I didn't notice any apparent difference between the variations, on the contrary, I will add this type of beer to my personal menu, especially when traveling with family.

Olá amigos cervejeiros, fiz um procedimento odontológico e não pude tomar nenhum tipo de bebida alcoólica, mas não poderia deixar de aproveitar o #beersaturday 380. Diante da situação, resolvi conhecer outras áreas da gastronomia cervejeira, as famosas cervejas sem álcool.
Quando mencionei para um grupo de amigos que iria tomar esse tipo de cerveja, os integrantes começaram a citar mitos e crendices sobre essa variedade que está cada vez mais presente nas prateleiras das lojas brasileiras. Diante de toda essa falácia, resolvi escrever esse post para listar alguns fatos interessantes e desmistificar alguns mitos que permeiam a mente de algumas pessoas.
MITOS E VERDADES
A cerveja sem álcool contém álcool: é verdade, cervejas com até 0,5% de teor alcoólico são consideradas sem álcool, porém, existem algumas variedades que podem chegar a um percentual de 0,0%. Esse percentual de até 0,5% não impede você de dirigir um veículo e não afeta seu teste de bafômetro.
Grávidas podem beber cerveja sem álcool: esse é um grande problema, grávidas devem evitar bebidas alcoólicas, isso inclui cervejas sem álcool, mas se você quiser beber, essa é a melhor opção. Lembre-se que a cerveja aumenta o risco de complicações na gravidez, esse é o momento da vida em que devemos evitar bebidas ou beber com moderação.
Cerveja sem álcool não tem sabor: esse é um grande mito, isso me surpreendeu, a Heineken sem álcool tem o mesmo sabor da cerveja tradicional, mantém até o amargor. Foi uma grande surpresa, mas acredito que isso não deva acontecer com todas as variedades, compre cerveja de qualidade.
Algumas pessoas dizem que cerveja sem álcool é medicinal: esse é um grande mito, não está associada a medicamentos, porém, tem alguns benefícios relacionados à hidratação do corpo, tem mais água em sua composição, é menos calórica e é livre de açúcar adicionado. O uso de vitaminas do complexo B é mencionado em seu rótulo e o melhor de tudo, você pode dirigir.
Cerveja sem álcool não engorda, não fica com barriga: esse é um grande mito, apesar de não ter açúcar adicionado, contém ingredientes que estão associados a diversos problemas de saúde como obesidade. Meu amigo, se você achava que não ficaria com aquela barriguinha tomando esse tipo de cerveja, esquece, faça exercícios para manter o corpo em forma e poder beber mais.
Esse tipo de cerveja é com gás: mito e loucura total, não sei de onde as pessoas tiram essas histórias.
Cerveja sem álcool deixa bêbado: mito, você pode beber o quanto quiser.
Vamos lá galera, se eu fosse listar tudo, eu praticamente escreveria um livro, esse post serve de auxílio para as pessoas que têm algumas dúvidas sobre esse tipo de cerveja. Não citei tudo, mas ficou bem claro que essa variedade mantém os padrões originais, "eliminando" apenas o álcool de sua composição.
Meu almoço foi acompanhado da presença de uma Heineken com 0,0% de álcool, minha primeira experiência nesse ramo de cerveja, não notei nenhuma diferença aparente entre as variações, pelo contrário, vou adicionar esse tipo de cerveja ao meu cardápio pessoal, principalmente quando viajar com a família.

Wow! I partied with a few Brazilians on a cruise ship who were not drinking and they enjoyed these. I never sampled one because I was on vacation and it was beer and rum time! Figured they tasted like most other zeros....zero taste. Guess I should try it!
@ablaze found himself a 1% IPA this week so maybe I should go hunt out one of the good low alcohol beers for a #beersaturday soon.

Man, I've always criticized non-alcoholic beers, even without having tried them. I believed in the stories that said they were tasteless. I broke that personal taboo and finally tried them.
Today, I have a completely different opinion. I recommend that you try them and draw your own conclusions. Those zeros also fooled me...
It may seem simple, but this happened thanks to the #beer community. I would never have tried one if it weren't for #beersaturday 380.
