It's #beersaturday here again in Australia, and today we have a battle between a couple Australian born and bred beverages.
It's been stinking hot lately here in Brisbane, and today has been no different. On my trip to the liquor store, I was on the hunt for a couple refreshing beverages that would best quench my immense thirst.
It was this hunt for the perfect beer that sparked the idea, that this #beersaturday a battle was about to go down. A battle to see who would reign supreme as this #beersaturday champion of the world.
Kaiju Krush
Fighting out of Victoria Australia, Kaiju Krush is a tropical pale ale weighing in with an ABV of 4.7% and 375mL in stature. Making a debut professional appearance here today.
Berry Sour Ale
And the challenger residing from Brisbane Australia, a home crowd favourite. Brewed by the local Green Beacon Brewery I introduce the Berry Sour Ale. A beer possessing a vibrant fruity flavour with a refreshing tart finish. Weighing in at 5.0% ABV, and 375ml in stature also.
This is a battle in the lightweight division. A battle of the beers to crown a unified title holder for the week. A beer that possesses a thirst quenching characteristic above all. The beer with the best flavour, vibrancy, and refreshingness will be crowned this #beersaturdays unified inaugral lightweight champion of the world.
IT'S TIME.. LET'S GET IT ON
ROUND 1 Vibrancy and Appearance
DING DING DING
The Kaiju Krush beer was poured first, and despite being a little bit frothy it was a beautiful illuminescent golden colour once poured, typical of what you'd expect of a tropical pale ale. It's appearance was mesmerising, enticing my anticipation levels greatly. An appearance that would be hard to beat.
The Berry Sour Ale when poured had an extremely contrasting appearance to that of its opponent. It was a red colour, that also had a natural glowing element to its appearance. It's appearance left me intrigued by its mysteriousness, and a burning curiosity to unravel its secrets. Solid first round.

ROUND 2 Taste
Being a tropical pale ale I was expecting a strong fruity flavour. The first sip was more of a gulp as the long awaited moment had finally come. A fruity flavour was definately present, and you could taste the hops nicely too. It possessed a somewhat similar taste to the more famous stone and wood pale ale, which is not a bad thing. Overall it was strong on flavour with a pleasant fruitiness about it, but did possess a slight bitterness within its after taste.
I was extremely excited about tasting the challenger. On the can it is described as being Raspberry and Cherry flavoured, which to me sounded delicious. But was it too good to be true?
Upon the first gulp a sourness was definately present. You could definately taste the berries, the flavour was strong in which the berries created the sourness that exists. I was really looking forward to the Cherry flavour, however to my disappointment despite trying to find it, the berries seemed to overpower it.
Despite this initial disappointment it was actually a delicious drop, very tasty, and the sourness actually added to its deliciousness.

ROUND 3 Quenching My Thirst
LET'S GOThe third and final round, that would determine the inaugral lightweight #beersaturday battle of the beer champion of the world.
When it came to quenching my immense thirst the fruitiness of the Kaiju Krush really hit the spot. It was a nice and light beer too, so went down very smoothly. A bitterness however existed, and in order to obtain full satisfaction and ultimate refreshingness this was a hindrance in the thirst quenching ability of this contender.
The Berry Sour Ale on the other hand, couldn't put a foot wrong in the thirst quenching department. The strong Berry flavours present and slight sourness made each sip unbelievably refreshing. Every sip I had left me craving another, and in about a minute or so she had almost disappeared. THIS IS WHAT I HAD BEEN LOOKING FOR.
AND THE WINNER
After a close fought battle between two distinctive and unique opponents in a battle of the beers for the ages, only one inagrual champion can be named to take on next week's opponent.
Fighting out of Brisbane Australia and winner by unanimous decision is the Berry Sour Ale brewed by Green Beacons Brewing Company.
I highly recommend purchasing one of these if your looking for a beer with ultimate refreshment capabilities.
Stay tuned for next week's review as a worthy title contender will go three rounds with our NEW #beersaturday LIGHTWEIGHT BATTLE OF THE BEER WORLD CHAMPION the delectable Berry Sour Ale.
Happy Weekend to all 🤙
