For tonight's #beersaturday beverage, I found a new Eagle Park offering at our local food co-op. I don't recall seeing this one before, but I do love Eagle Park's IPAs. Plus, as I looked at the can further, I noticed the Halo reference. Oh yeah, I definitely had to pick this one up!
This is a double, New England style IPA. Featuring Chinooks and coming in at a solid 8% ABV, the beer does indeed have a bit of a piney sensibility to it. It's much different in taste profile than the Toppling beers I've been drinking of late.
This brewery definitely hits the IPA style well. Their beers are always high in alcohol but the taste of the beer doesn't point it out. Yet another "slippery slope" type of beer (but it's good).
Hazy, hazy, and hazy...have I mentioned how much I enjoy this style of beer? I remember my first foray into craft beers 20 years ago. My gateway beer was the German Weiss beer. I remember not enjoying pale ale/ipas back then...my, how the palate has changed over the years. With that said, I'm giving this one a 4/5 on Untappd tonight.
What else did we manage to do tonight? We actually decided to make a family dinner together. Using a one-pot recipe, we threw chicken breasts, mushrooms, swiss chard, onions, and garlic into the cast iron tonight. Hattie helped with the mushrooms:
I seared up the chicken:
The mushrooms and veggies:
Then threw in some heavy cream to make it all work:
Yum! You can't beat a night of good beer and good food for a #beersaturday!

Until next weekend...
I'm a little concerned that you put the beer on the burner, but I suspect that you hadn't turned the burner on yet. 😁
That all looks good, brew straight through to dinner. Awesome stuff.
Jeah that combination is just perfect.
