This #beersaturday, my wife and I didn't have anything planned. I was excited to receive a phone call from my brother, asking if we wanted to get together and throw some axes at Limitless Axes and Ales with his family.
Yes, Limitless Axes and Ales is just like it sounds, you play a game like darts but use axes. Oh yeah and drink beer! Limitless Axes and Ales is located in Pleasanton California and they have another location in Stockton California.
Throwing axes is a new trend that is taking off and you can find axe throwing places everywhere it seems now. I have played at a few different locations, but I liked Limitless Axes and Ales the best. The reason I liked this place is that the targets have a computer projecting the targets which allows for many different games. The computer also has the score above the target. Other places the targets were spray painted onto the wood and scoring was done on a chalk board. In the picture above my brother is throwing an axe as we play a 21 card game. To the right of our lane you can see a traditional target game being played.
So while we played my brother and I enjoyed some great beer. We started with Revision Brewing Company's Vegas as Fuck. Revision Brewing is located in Sparks Nevada and has many colorful names for their beers. This was a hazy style IPA and is 6.5% ABV. It is a good beer and has a pinapple taste from the hops. The hops used are Mosiac, Galaxy, and Vic Secret.
The next beer we had was Morgan Territory Brewing's Moon Time. Morgan Territory Brewing is located in Tracy California. Moon Time is another Hazy IPA and has is 6.8% ABV. The hops used are Mosiac, Vic Secret, and Citra. The flavor is also fruity and is similar to the Vegas as Fuck beer we previously had but with less pinapple flavor.
We finished up with an Altamont Brewing's Maui Waui. Altamont Brewing is located in Livermore California and in previous posts I wrote about not being much of a fan when the brewery first opened. As time has gone on Altamont Brewing has improved and Maui Waui was a good example of an IPA. Maui Waui is 6.5% ABV and is brewed with Mosiac and Citra hops. The beer has a tropical fruit smell and is pleasant to drink.
We had a great day throwing axes and hanging out with my brothers family.
