Hello, beer tasters! π» π π»
One week has passed and it's time for #beersaturday again!
I've been working on firewood all day so all my muscles are in pain.
Now I'm going to have a couple of hoppy drinks, hopefully, something will help and take the pain away.
I bought these two beers in local shops. It's lucky they keep changing the beers they offer, otherwise, I don't know how I would have tasted so many different beers in the few years I've been writing about it :)
As usual, the lower alcohol ones first.
Steam Brew Session IPA
Brewed by Privatbrauerei Eichbaum, Manheim, Germany. Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.9% ABV, 35 IBU.
Session IPA is lower in alcohol than classic IPA but it's still hoppy dominant.
This Steam Brew series has its own website.
Master brewers say:
The delicate but nevertheless aromatic body of the triple-hopped Session Pale Ale ensures a pleasant drinking experience. The exclusive hop variety βVic Secretβ surprises with exotic and tropical, fruity notes. The Steam Brew Session IPA tastes the best when it is between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius. Let's oil the gears of life!
Yeah, a "pleasant drinking experience" is what I'm looking for. And Steampunk design ...
The beer is cloudy yellow, there is a lot of head but it disappears quickly. I don't smell anything special. The first sip goes down the throat nicely, I detect hop bitterness but not very pronounced, a discreet citrus aroma in the background, and in the aftertaste, it all disappears quickly. Another bold sip and so on.
There seems to be no malt sweetness, just tropical aromas that quickly disappear.
Fresh and drinkable beer, you could drink it all night. The hop bitterness could be more pronounced, even though it is a Session IPA. And I would be impressed.
But as it is, it's just an average beer, nothing special.
Beer meme time! :) π
Reservoir Dogs Single Blonde
Brewed by Reservoir Dogs, Nova Gorica, Slovenia. Can, 0.44 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV, 22 IBU.
It's a Blonde Ale, hops bitterness is dominant, typically has more flavor than American Lagers and Cream Ales. Less bitterness than an American Pale Ale.
Master brewers say:
Single Blondie: everyone likes her. A single hop blonde ale with Simcoe. An unpretentious light golden beer to be had in large quantities. Who can say no to a nice blonde?
Truth. I can't say no to a nice blonde. Especially in Andy Warhol style ...
The beer is a light, clear golden color, the head is average. It has no particular smell. The sip goes down the throat smoothly, the hop bitterness is predominant but not pronounced. Tropical fruit aromas are present and caramel in the background.
In the aftertaste, the aromas disappear and the hop bitterness remains for a while.
Drinkable and fresh. The flavors and aromas are well balanced, nothing stands out too much. I could easily drink more, but there is nothing to cause excitement or euphoria. Similar to the previous one, average, maybe a shade better.
But certainly, both are better than a world-famous industrial brands. Since they are both available, and the price is reasonable (around 1β¬), a couple of them will end up in my fridge.
And what am I listening to as I write this and taste beers? Something from my latest #newtunes post. Easy, danceable, boogie-ish beat.
