I actually had a less than satisfactory airport experience flying into Berlin from the UK. Now we Brits have to go in the long queue and cannot use the automatic system. They only had a couple of people on duty, so it took a while.
I know you have to be careful in some countries that have rampant crime. I guess if the guy was flying in then there was a good chance he was okay rather than someone you just met at the airport.
I would expect you to seek out the good beers and you hit gold.

Yep, I wouldn't have accepted a lift by a complete stranger, I was actually rather afraid of what could happen in Brazil, some folks kept scaring me, including Brazilians. However, if you're not an ass, Brazil is quite safe to travel. I'll delve more into that in my upcoming posts.
I visited four craft breweries, and run into several beer trucks in fact. Quite surprisingly, Brazilian beer culture is on a high level. At least in the rich cities I've visited, I reckon somewhere deep in Amazonia, people care about other things than beer.
