One of the tastiest triples we have available here in Belgium is the Gouden Carolus Tripel. Available in 33 and 75cl bottles and from the barrel. In certain pubs nearby you we can taste this triple from the barrel. This of course makes a huge difference compared to bottled beer. Although a refreshing beer from the bottle is also tasty!
Despite technological progress, this beer is brewed according to the age-old tradition and unites, as before, the best raw materials from our soil such as ripe barley and fine hops, in order to retain as much pure aroma as possible. Originally brewed for the Knights of the Golden Fleece in 1491, this beer has a pure and neat taste, matured in the bottle, obtained exclusively from pale malt, highly fermented and 100% natural. With a full-bodied taste that nevertheless quenches thirst, thanks to the balanced hopping. This pleasant golden blonde beer is chosen by those who like a heavier, slightly spicy and refreshing beer.
This triple is world class.
In 2002, this beer won the Gold Award at the biennial World Beer Cup in the "Triple" category. In 2010 this beer won gold on the European Beer Star in the category "Belgian Style Tripel". In 2012 gold followed again with the award for the best Tripel beer in the world (“World's Best Belgian-Style Tripel”).

The beer is brewed by Het Anker Brewery in Mechelen (Belgium).
In 1872, the Van Breedam family bought the brewery from the Krankenhuis in Mechelen. The love for the trade and the interest of the family for the Malines glory period among the Dukes of Burgundy are the basis for the return to traditions and the brewing of special beers.
In 1990, 5th generation Charles Leclef takes over the brewery and major investments are made.
The buildings and materials are being restored and renewed. A 3-star hotel is opened within the walls of the brewery. A renovated brasserie was opened at the end of 2010 and tours of the brewery are being restarted.
Also in 2010, a full-fledged whiskey distillery was built and put into use in Blaasveld in the 17th-century family farm.
The Gouden Carolus Single Malt was launched in 2013 and has already won several international awards.
