Sunday Beer thoughts...

It's 13:44... and it's a sunny Sunday. Fat Freddy's Drop is playing and I'm sipping my beer, having a smoke, and .....

....waltzing down memory lane.
I love beer, but never ever will I be a beer connoisseur of any sorts. Ask me to tell you what beer I'm drinking and my comments will be "it's good" "it's great" "it's so-so".

As I am living in Poland, I am drinking a Zubr.
It's not a fancy beer, it's fulfilling.

Working in a pub in Dublin, Dublin 6, I met my fare share of beer snobs. The "hipster is my front, I'm-so-cool type". IS there anything wrong with a hipster. Nah, mate. It's the pretend.
If you can't pin-point the hops, barley, process, exact exquisite taste... Well, according to them, you don't value beer...

In Vietnam I drank the Saigon with ice in my glass. Blasphemy?
Better than drinking warm beer.

I found a beer named Silva in Romania... the dark brew was 7 %.
My name's Silva and I enjoy a beer with substance and my name.

In Serbia, they call for Jelen... I preferred Zajecar.

In Belgium, drink everything and you won't be disappointed. Best yet, they come out of vending machines.

In North America, it's all a bunch of watered down piss.

I drank home-brew in Austria... it wasn't quite ready, but it was good enough to have a second.

And ultimately, I have yet to meet a Staropramen wanna-be that went down more smoothly.

There are hundreds of beers I don't remember the name of, nor do I care. Although, I would care to have them in my hand again.

In Belgium I was a poor backpacker deciding if I could afford a beer. It seemed by budget it was either a beer or a sandwich for lunch. I was informed a beer is equivalent to a sandwich in calories. Decision solved.

There is one beer travesty which can not be excused. Warm beer. My housemate in Canada preferred warm beer. I rather die of thirst.

In New Zealand, I swore I would name my first born child Speight...

In Hungary, at the Sziget festival... someone asked what drugs we were on... "We're on beer!"

The best aspect of beer, aside from the taste, is the people you meet along the drink.

Cheers to your Sunday beer.
