Hello hivers! Allow me to introduce myself again, @amishu, and welcome to my blog!🌷
Please take a moment to read my blog, where you will discover some insightful information and lessons on my next adventure!🛒
Join us as we share our exciting trip from Colon Cebu to Taboan Public Market, a journey filled with preparation, exploration, and delightful finds. My aunt is heading to Australia on June 28, and she needed to prepare some special items for her colleagues in Australia and friends in Manila. Among the essentials were dried mangoes and salted dried fish, known as "bulad/buwad" in Bisaya or "tuyo" in Tagalog. I eagerly agreed to accompany her, looking forward to exploring Taboan Public Market.🌃
We left our house at 3 PM, expecting traffic in Minglanilla. As expected, we arrived at Colon Cebu at 5 PM.
The first order of business was for my aunt to withdraw some money to buy the items she needed.
With cash in hand, she suggested we visit Xuping Jewelry, known for its affordable and high-quality pieces.💍 This was my first visit, and I was impressed by their selection. My aunt picked out a necklace for her trip, and I found a pair of earrings. The necklace cost 150 pesos and the earrings 70 pesos, totaling just 220 pesos. These pocket-friendly prices make them great gifts, especially for those who prefer not to wear real gold in crowded places like my aunt.☺️
After our jewelry purchase, we headed to Gaisano Metro. My aunt wanted a luggage organizer to keep her belongings orderly. We wandered through the store, finally finding the organizers in the luggage area. After some hard time deciding, she chose a simple yet elegant black one.
We stroll again and we then checked out the slippers section, where my aunt picked a pair for indoor use in Australia. With our shopping done, we proceeded to the counter to pay.💸
Our next destination was Taboan Public Market, but we decided to have dinner afterward.
We took a jeepney to the market, where the strong smell of dried fish greeted us. Despite the smell, these dried fish are delicious. We found the store where my aunt always buys her dried goods.
Though slightly pricey, so she just bought 2 1/4 kilos of "Daing" and 1 1/4 kilos of dried squid, my personal favorite. Additionally, she purchased nine packs of dried mangoes for 80 pesos each.🥭 The sight of the dried fish made me crave some for dinner.🎏
With our market visit complete, we returned to Colon Cebu and headed to E-mall for a meal at McDonald’s.
We ordered two chicken fillet ala king meals with rice and drinks, knowing we'd have more food at home since my grandmother was preparing our favorite "Sinigang," a delicious stew.😋
After a quick meal, we explored a nearby "Ukay-Ukay" store. "Ukay-Ukay" refers to shops selling secondhand clothes and accessories in the Philippines. My aunt found some long skirts perfect for winter in Australia and quickly bought them.🧥
Our final stop was Savemore Supermarket to pick up essential items like shampoo, body soap and many more.
After everything we proceed to the counter and fall in line. After paying, we headed home, exhausted but satisfied with our productive and enjoyable day.✨
Our trip from Colon Cebu to Taboan Public Market was not just about shopping; it was a fun adventure filled with memorable moments. From the busy streets of Colon to the fish-filled air of Taboan, each stop added to our experience. My aunt's careful preparation for her trip to Australia and Manila showed how thoughtful she is about her friends and colleagues. She made sure she had meaningful gifts, reflecting the tastes and culture of the Philippines.🇵🇭
Visiting Xuping Jewelry was a delightful experience. The jewelry we bought was stylish and budget-friendly, making it perfect for travelers and gift-givers. Gaisano Metro offered many choices, and we enjoyed looking through different sections to find the right items for my aunt’s journey.🤩
Taboan Public Market, with its strong smell and lively atmosphere, was a highlight of our trip. The variety of dried fish and mangoes on display was a testament to the rich culinary traditions of Cebu. Despite the strong smell, the market is a treasure trove for anyone looking to bring home authentic Filipino delicacies.🦑
Our quick dinner at McDonald’s and the visit to the "Ukay-Ukay" store were enjoyable breaks in our busy schedule. The secondhand clothes we found were not only affordable but also practical for my aunt’s needs in Australia. Savemore Supermarket provided us with the final essentials, rounding off our shopping spree.🛍️
As we headed home, tired but happy, I thought about the day’s events. Our trip was a perfect mix of preparation, exploration, and bonding. It was a reminder of the vibrant culture and rich traditions of Cebu, from its markets to its jewelry stores. Whether it was the affordable jewelry, the aromatic dried fish, or the secondhand treasures, each stop on our journey offered something unique and memorable.💕
Our adventure from Colon Cebu to Taboan Public Market was more than just a shopping trip; it was an experience that brought us closer, filled with laughter and discovery. It also gave us a deeper appreciation for the simple joys of life. Thank you for joining us on this journey, and we look forward to sharing more of our adventures with you soon.🥰
As I draw to a close, let us never forget that supporting one another is what will always make us stronger.
