I am here again to share my trip to Consolacion, Cebu. This place can be found in barangay Garing and Danlag, Consolacion, Cebu, Philippines. Both are the mountainous areas in Consolacion. We, Cebuano knows that Consolacion is a crowded place as well as a very traffic road to pass by. Consolacion is next to Mandaue City.
Talking about passing by the national road in Consolacion gives me a stressful day while passing there. I always think about the reasons that make this place very trafficked. I feel pity for the drivers who are striving hard for their families. Then, their time is on the traffic all the time. The government must take action to solve the traffic as fast as they can because it can affect the employees, students, and others.
I think I have some tips to share with you to solve the traffic in the city.
The citizens are not allowed to own a car without a garage because others park their cars on the road. This way can minimize buying for cars and can prevent traffic, especially in the city.
The owners of private cars are allowed to be ridden every weekend. During weekdays, they must ride public transportation to minimize the traffic.
Add trains for the Cities in Cebu like Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, Cebu City, and Talisay City and the nearby town next to the mentioned cities. Otherwise, there will be a train from Cebu City to North Cebu and City to South Cebu.
This is how trafficked the Consolacion, Cebu National Highway.
People here are stuck in traffic for a long time from Cebu City. They also experienced traffic from Mandaue City to Consolacion. They complained always because they arrived home late in the evening from work. In the morning, there's heavy traffic as well because during weekdays people go to work, school, deliver goods, etc. I had experienced before during my college days I had difficulty riding public transportation due to many people waiting for the jeepneys. In Cebu before the pandemic, our public transportation was jeepneys and buses. However, the people in the city ride jeepneys going to work. While people ride buses when they go to their towns in North and South Cebu. After the pandemic, there are many white small buses with air conditioners around the cities. People have two choices to ride. If they want comfortable rides, they can choose an air-conditioner bus but the fare is different from the jeepneys. It is a little higher fare than the jeepneys' fare.
I thought Consolacion, Cebu had no place to refresh for stressful days.

I was amazed by seeing this cornfield because I thought Consolacion was more on buildings and houses. Seeing how the caretaker managed the area is so manifesting. The field is away from busses and the corn plants are healthy.

Grandfather's Welding Shop
We went to Garing, Consolacion because we visited my husband's grandfather as his 2nd degree Lolo. First, we passed by the barangay Danlag then next was the barangay Garing. Anyway, his grandfather owns a business which is a welding shop. My husband had experience working in his Lolo's shop as a welder for a few months due to the Covid-19 pandemic. He worked as a welder on the ship as well.
They made a Propeller for the boat and delivered it to any hardware inside or outside Cebu. At this time, the shop of his Lolo is successful because they deliver bigger hardware anywhere in the Philippines. He has many employees and welding machines. Upon arrival, we heard his grandfather scolding his employees because of the vices they had. We heard that his employee had high blood pressure. He scolded everyone because of always used cigarettes while working and drank liquor during their day off. He's hoping that it will never happen again in his shop. We heard from his wife that he was the one who paid for it in the hospital from the previous attack. He really treated his employees as his own family. He even provided them with rooms to stay. Some of his employees are from Tabogon, Cebu which is my town.

We visited him because his Lolo offered my husband an opportunity related to his degree.

How to get there?
Stop at the corner of Cansaga, Consolacion next to SM Consolacion. The corner going there is in front of the corner to Laray, Consolacion.
Then, find a motorcycle driver and the fee is 100 pesos. It takes a 10-15 minute ride to get there.
Anyway, the disadvantage of going there is the rough road. It is expected that you can experience the clouds of dust around. It's better to wear face masks and a helmet.

I love to see the province side of Cebu! most contents I see about Cebu is always the city part of it. Well, regarding to your advice to traffic, I personally think that it will be unfair to have the private cars owners to use their cars only in weekends, and that will only be possible if we have good mode of public transpo.
