Looking back,our wedding day wasn't what we initially envisioned.It wasn't a grand affair with hundreds of guests,a lavish reception,or months of meticulous planning.Instead,it was a simple,quick civil ceremony at the judge's office,a"quickly wedding,"as I like to call it.And yet,it was perfect.The story of our"quickly wedding"began during my training at the PNP training center.The need for a marriage certificate,so my wife could be my beneficiary on important documents,spurred a rapid decision.We didn't have time for a traditional wedding;we needed something quick and efficient.The civil ceremony became our solution.
The day itself was intimate and surprisingly beautiful.Only a handful of people were present:my two grandparents,Paterno Bontigao and Magna Aperdo,a cousin,and a nephew,and the parents of my wife.The absence of the usual wedding fanfare was replaced by a quiet solemnity,a focus on the commitment we were making to each other.The judge's office,usually a place of legal proceedings,transformed into a space of profound personal significance.The simplicity of the setting highlighted the depth of our love and commitment.

My wife's family wasn't even aware of the civil wedding.The decision was made quickly,and we chose to keep it a small,private affair.We knew that we wanted to celebrate our union with a larger gathering later,and that's exactly what we plan to do.

We've decided to have a renewal of vows ceremony in a church when we reach our 10th anniversary.This will be the grand celebration we initially dreamt of,a chance to share our joy with all our loved ones who weren't able to be there for our civil wedding.It will be a chance to relive the emotions of that day,but with the added joy of sharing it with everyone who means so much to us.Our"quickly wedding"might not have been the wedding we originally planned,but it holds a special place in our hearts.It was a testament to our love,our adaptability,and our ability to find beauty in the unexpected.It was a reminder that the essence of marriage lies not in the grandeur of the ceremony,but in the commitment two people make to each other.The simplicity of our civil wedding made it uniquely ours,a story we'll cherish and share for years to come.And,of course,the renewal of vows will be a wonderful opportunity to celebrate with everyone we hold dear.We're looking forward to that day,but for now,we're content with our simple,speedy,and profoundly meaningful civil wedding.
