The Big Bad Wolf Paradise

in Hive PH2 months ago

A few weeks ago, a paradise for bookworms emerged at the main atrium of SM City Malls showcasing wide varieties of different genres of books including anime merchandise and learning materials for kids. The news delighted me since I have the love for books since I was a kid, but I still got a stash untouched since last year and that so, I couldn't possibly buy another one for me. It would be a waste of money if I just stock them up and wouldn't be having a time to read them one by one. Instead, I have thought of buying some for my daughter.

She is currently a Kindergarten student and she's now doing some activities like practicing to write the letters and numbers, reading some simple words, also coloring a picture book in her class. Before the BBW was launched, they uploaded a promotional video on Facebook and I have watched that they were also selling Children's book and that part enticed me for my very purpose.

The arc leading to this book haven was situated at the ground floor of North Wing, where all the events are held and more people are visiting. As you enter the place, you could see a long array of sorted tables according to each genres where the books are displayed and at the top of it, prices are posted on a sign where there are letters with their corresponding value. Their pricing was according to the book materials and genres, then letters were placed as tags on each books, so customers could easily look it up.

The first stop we had was the anime merchandise.

There were posters of different anime displayed. I have seen some Demon Slayer characters in there and was tempted to buy that Nezuko and Inosuke poster. Thankfully, I managed to hold back as I was reminding myself to only buy what's needed for that day.

Aside from posters, they also have round pins and stickers with anime prints on them. They were selling it per sets which contains set of characters from different anime. I think you could buy a piece for as low as Php 50 but the sets range from Php 150 to Php 300 or maybe 500 or more, depending on how famous those anime are.

Our next stop, the bundles of fiction books.

They offer variety of book series from different authors and genres. I'm not fond of young adult fiction, but those were good, too. There's romance genre on the other side and fantasy books. However, the one that caught my eye was the pile of books sorted as Crime or Thriller genre. I'm often amazed with how authors narrate such intense, suspenseful, bloody and breathtaking scenes or imageries. As someone who has a hobby of writing, it's the kind genre which I find the hardest to accomplish. I have seen some familiar authors and titles there, and again, was tempted to buy one.

Thankfully, the section for Children's Book and Learning Materials were near from where I was standing, adjacent to the pile I was at.

They have hardbound, pop-ups and softbound story books. There were comic books, too. Those were all entertaining for kids and can help boosting their imaginations but I have already bought some story books for her last time. She's currently studying and I want something that could aid her in her studies. Thus, it would be nice if it is something educational and informative rather than any entertainments.

Out of those piles, I have finally found what I wanted all the while. I have chosen this book about counting, writing and coloring. Then, the other one is about English basics for ages 5 to 6 years old. At school, they have reading exercises and the words are mostly in English, so I thought that it would be suitable for her learning.

At the end of their stocks exhibit, you can take a picture in this wing-shaped backdrop made from books. For me, books are treasures. I don't feel excited upon seeing that thing on that corner but a little upset rather. It sends off a message to me that they don't value every book whatever the genre is. But anyway, it's their gimmick on how to attract more customers, so I'll leave it as it is. The most important thing here is the affordable books that the masses could avail.

Big Bad Wolf is touring around and maybe it might visit your place one day. I hope you can buy your favorite books when that moment came. By the way, thanks for reading my blog as it ends here.

BBW is a paradise! I used to visit them when I was living in bigger cities. There's a lot of discounts too which makes it a steal when you saved up a year just to purchase books 😁

Yes, they have a lot of discounts. If I haven't manage to hold myself, I would be broke within a minute. 😆
