Good Day Happies!
I am from Philippines and I love my culture!
This is my first time to wear a Filipiniana and I look so gorgeously amazing. According to Wikipedia, the María Clara gown, sometimes referred to as Filipiniana dress or traje de mestiza,is a traditional dress worn by women in the Philippines. It is an aristocratic version of the baro't saya.
I could still remember the moment where I dance "Polka sa Nayon" to represent our College department for the cultural dance competition and gladly, we won the 3rd spot! Additionally, Polka Sa Nayon means Polka in the Village. This dance comes from the province of Batangas (my hometown) in the Tagalog Region of the Philippine Islands. In the old days it was very popular and was usually danced at all the big social affairs and at the town fiestas.
I guess it is a lot more fun in the Philippines! :)
