I always feel amazed whenever I see the stunning wonder of nature but sometimes stumbling upon a combination of natural resources and man's noble quest for it is both amazing and heartwarming, just like the Hydro Facility I discovered during one of our road trips.
Exploring the corners of the countryside proves to have no limits as it always reveals new discoveries and learning. On my last road trip in the corners of Danao, after exploring the White Peak of Manggabon, I also had the privilege to learn about the Hydro facility nestling in the mountain base of Lusaran.
I thought I'd only be seeing the majestic mountain rolls of Danao which I highly recommend for people who love road trips in the North. Danao route is truly worth every mile !
After a long and slow ride over the mountains of Danao, I was surprised to discover a large lake nestled at the base. I immediately went to the lake, as I thought this was a private resort
The Hydro Facility of Lusaran!
I learned that the large lake was actually the Hydro Facility of JE Hydro Bio-Energy Corp. This impressive water treatment facility was made to address or lessen the water supply problem of Cebu City.
I'm impressed by these kinds of projects and initiatives of both private and government sectors. As I looked closely at the area, particularly at the base of the mountain, I could say that nothing had been damaged nor destroyed just to realize this project, unlike the other natural water resources in my area that were sacrificed for the realization of the government projects (just like the Etay River of Carmen that I visited recently, huhu)
At first glance, one would be amazed first at the beautiful view of the expansive water facility which is huge and vast, not to mention its striking emerald green color! The water is inviting me to dive for a swim! Haha
I asked random locals if the pond/pool gets full too, and they said the pool is filled with water during the rainy season, but hence it's summer the pool is half-filled.
This was my first time seeing such a large water facility in the North and I was even more surprised to learn that this technology is the first of its kind in Cebu, a water treatment facility featuring the incredible, proven and tested Filipino design and home-grown technology. Isn't it amazing?
Together with my astonishment about the facility and my appreciation of the captivating view of this project, I strolled around to see a better look at the project!
And yes, I was both amazed and proud of this initiative and the skills of the Filipinos.🥰
It was another worth-the-mile road trip in the countryside💚
