My name is Mae!
I am taking a Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems. I do have three siblings and I am the eldest. I have a complete family of six and being a first born child is not quite easy. There are times that my siblings are out of control amd questioning myself if I can really handle them. But as time goes by, it is a privilege to have siblings like them although they are not perfect. Well, no one is perfect in this world anyway.
As I often strive to be tough and responsible eldest daughter, I have also fears and phobias. In fact, there are several things that make my heart skip a beat and send shivers down my spine. For one, I have an intense fear of snakes and worms that makes me squirm. I know they're harmless, but there is something about their wiggly bodies and skimy textures that just unsettles me.
I love swimming, but only in shallow waters where I can touch the bottom. The thought of being on water that is too deep bothers me of what might be down there. Lastly, height is a major fear of mine. I get wet hands by looking down from a high place, and the thought of being in a situation where I might fall or lose my balance is terrifying. It is ironic that despite my tough being, I have these intense fears. But I'm working on facing them and becoming a stronger and more resilient person.
My 2 Hobbies in Life
I love makeup since high school for the reason that it brings me satisfaction. It gives me the chance to express my feelings every day. I feel gorgeously confident when I'm wearing even lighter makeup. On the other hand, I also love cooking. As an eldest daughter, my playground is our kitchen. Cooking for my family like viands and desserts give me so much happiness. Whenever someone compliments my cooking skills, it makes my heart full and it serves as fuel for why I love practicing every day. Manifesting that I can also learn different delicacies around the globe.
Being a beach and mountain baby
Since I was born near the seashore and mountains, I was fortunate enough to hear the soothing sounds of the waves and the chirping of birds. Growing up, I spent these magical moments where collecting seashells, and watching the sunset over the water can give you peace of mind. I would often wander both mountains and seashore together with my cousins. To this day, the smell of saltwater and the sound of insects at night gives me peace and connection to my roots.
Why did I join Hive?
I have always been interested to joining Hive to improve my writing skills as well as connecting with people who share my interest in life. I want to connect with different minds and to collect knowledge with one another. I used to and I love to make friends. I am excited to be part of this group where I can share my learnings, passion, and to grow personally. Thank you to a friend of mine @ayane-chan, who introduced me to this platform. She mentioned that I can expand my knowledge when it comes to exploring different perspective. For me, this is a great opportunity as an outgoing woman. With a desire to have a supportive and dynamic community.
