Treasured Moments: Celebrating Our Class Feast Day

in Hive PH10 months ago

A lovely day, fellow Hivers! I'm back after a long break, and after so long I finally have the time to make another blog that is worth the wait. I've been busy with my personal life and school activities lately and it's making me stressed and tired.

But right now, I wanna share another memory or my wonderful experience within my school. Up until now, I could still remember every detail that we made together with all of my classmates and my teacher. For today's blog, I'm going to show you our feast day on our very own farm! But first I'm going to explain why we celebrate the feast day every year at our school.

What is a feast day?

There are many types of feast day in every country of each culture they have, but ours is a bit different than the others. We only celebrate this every year based on what month our Saint was beatified. In our school, each grade has four sections, and the sections are given by the names of different Saints.

During our feast day, we celebrate this together by sharing a large amount of food and exploring new places which is very enjoyable. Unfortunately, this only lasts for half a day, and when it's over we will go our separate ways and go straight back home.

Before we started our feast day we gathered all together in our classroom. Our teacher checked our attendance first and made sure all preparations were ready before we started walking together to the farm. The distance between our school and the farm is quite far, so some of my classmates who carried heavy things chose to ride by vehicle.

It was noon so it was very hot from the strong heat wave coming from the sun, we arrived at almost 1 o'clock. The farm was big and even at the entrance, you could already see so many flowers and trees surrounding the area. You can tell that this was well taken care of and it was very important that it also symbolizes our school. The name of the farm is De Marillac Farm this place is located in Banakod, Bogo City, Cebu.

This farm is close to the sea, and at the end of it is covered in mangroves and also a swamp so you can easily hear the waves and smell the air coming from the sea. But mostly, the farm is full of trees, wildflowers, and fruits.

For so many years have passed yet this place is still as beautiful as ever. This place could never grow old with the love and care for each student who cherishes it. And every year we continue to make an effort and projects that will forever make our farm grow strong.

We were getting hungry so we ate lunch together, the food that we shared was from our allowance while others pledged to bring some food, all of us shared the food that we all worked hard with and it was worth it. After that, our teacher let us wander around the entire place, it was exciting and fun. There were also cute small animals in here! They were so friendly and were used to human contact and maybe somebody owned them here or the caretaker of this farm.

A mother cat approached me, she was pregnant and her belly was getting bigger than the normal size, maybe she was giving birth to 3-5 kittens. And from what I noticed since the moment we entered this place there were a lot of pineapple plants and other vegetables!

Unfortunately, the pineapple plant was not bearing any fruit, but I found this small cute pineapple fruit. Huge trees and beautiful scenery were so mesmerizing we were deep in the forest and were also close to the sea. Some of my friends and other classmates went to the seashore even though they weren't allowed to, the end of the farm was closed by tall gates and it was barely locked so they could easily slide through outside. The sea was clean, maybe because people didn't know about this place and it was private property. My friends and I took a little picture together, it was fun and calming and eases your pain and stress.

I found these wild berries near the end of the farm, I don't know what they were but they were beautiful. Some of it was red but it was mostly black or dark blue I guess. They have different kinds of plants here like dragon fruit, pineapple, eggplant, cassava, and many more. Some of my classmates were sharing stories and singing under the shade of the trees, while me and my cousin were wandering around the area to look for a good spot to take some pictures.

We eventually ended up in this small tree that was perfect for our height. We made it to the end of the farm and all we could see was a dark and gloomy swamp surrounded by mangroves it had shallow water though it was directly connected to the sea. After exploring the whole farm we gathered all together to have a little karaoke and games, and we spent the next two hours singing and playing games for the whole afternoon. We were having a good time but time was flying too fast and it was already time for us to go back to our school and go home.

But before that our teacher called us to take a picture, this picture will forever be in my memory, a chapter in my life that I felt real with my friends and classmates together as one. I will never forget these memorable moments in this school year and I'm looking forward to another exciting event with all of my classmates together.

So my feast day ends here everyone! I hope you enjoyed reading it and having fun with it as well, and even though it was small and nothing grand it was just the perfect feast day that I ever experienced yet. Thank you so much for spending your time reading my small blog! See you next time!
